A Quiet Place II

chapter 3

Once we got down to where we were staying, I went over to check on my little brother to see if he was still sleeping.

I helped Marcus into the chamber thingy, so we can fix him up.

 I know a little bit about treaty people, so I went in there to see if they needed my help. (by the way I helped my mom give birth)

Evelyn started poring alcohol on his wound so it wouldn't get affected.

Marcus wouldn't stop screaming and I didn't know what to do so I just held his hand. Marcus held my hand back but he was squeezing very tightly that I thought my hand was going to fall off. 

After that was over we helped Marcus to the bed and fell right asleep.

Then Regan started to signed to me

"I miss you so much Rae, I thought you die"

"I missed you too" I signed back

"What happened to your family" Evelyn asked

I look at her with this look in my eye that told her everything.

She must of understand because she went up to hug me.

"Oh, I also forgot" I signed.

Then I went over to my brother, carefully picking him up so I wouldn't wake him.

"This is my baby brother, my mom had him during the beginning of all this" I said

Evelyn look at me with this look in her eyes like she was very proud of me

*couple hours later*

I woke up when I heard the chamber thing opening again, then I saw Marcus and Regan looking at me like they wanted to talk. So I went in there with them.

Regan started signing saying how they're people out there and how she could help them but Marcus doesn't think that's a good idea.

"I think that if there's a chance of life out there, we should go and see" I signed.

Regan nodded her head but Marcus looked disappointed at me.

Then Marcus said something that I knew would hurt Regan feelings.

"We don't want to end up like dad"

I looked at Marcus, like we would he say something like that.

Then the timer went off letting us know that we would have to get out.

We all just ended up going back to bed.

*next morning*

I woke up to Marcus pushing my shoulder

"What Marcus" I signed

Then he showed me the note Regan left

I looked up in shock, I didn't know she we going to go out alone

"I didn't know she was going to go out there alone, I thought she would of taken one of us with her or would of said something" I signed to Marcus

Marcus just look at me with anger in his eyes

After Evelyn begged Emmett to go search for her, he finally said he would

Then Evelyn tried to sneak out without anyone knowing, but I saw her and I think Marcus did too.

"Where are you going" Marcus signed to Evelyn

"I need to get supplies" Evelyn said

"Please don't go" Marcus signed

"How am I suppose to take of the baby" Marcus said

" You know how too, I showed you how, plus you have Rae with you." Evelyn said

Me and Marcus said our goodbye and went back down.

Hours later and nobody has came back yet. Then I saw Marcus putting the baby back in the basket and trying to sneak off somewhere.

I ran up to him

"Marcus, what are you doing?"

"I'm just going to look around, you see here with the kids" Marcus said

"No, you can't go alone" I said

"Yes, I can I'll be safe" Marcus said

"No what if something happens to you, you are very clumsy and would definitely accidentally make noise" I said

He just look at me almost like he wanted to smile

"Thats it I'm coming with you" I said 

"No" Marcus said

"Yes, what if you find something and can't carry it back because of your leg" I said

"Plus the kids will be fine, little Charlie is sleeping anyways" I said

"So that's what his name is?" Marcus said

"No, but that's what I calling him for now" I said with a smile

" Ok, let's go" Marcus said.
