Mark stepped into the study, quietly closing the door behind him. The girl sitting at the table didn't bother looking up, eyes glued to the book opened in front of her.

"You're late."

"I'm sorry." Mark said, settling down beside his sister. "I was helping dad with some work and it took a lot longer than I thought."

"You should have just cancelled then." Grace told him, finally looking up. "Then maybe you would have saved some time."

Grace pushed her chair back and Mark already knew what she was planning. He quickly grabbed her arm, stopping her.

"Please, I need this." Mark said, trying his best to sound like he wasn't begging. "Dad's going to test me tomorrow and if I don't answer correctly, I'm screwed."

"Maybe you should be studying instead of seeing your girlfriend all the time." Grace mumbled under her breath, pulling some books out.

"Jisun is a good person to spend time with." Mark argued. "There's no harm in seeing her every now and then."

"Uh huh, that's why I have to cover for you every time you visit Dealain with her without father's permission." Grace retorted.

Mark didn't know what to say, knowing better than to mess with his sister. He simply stayed silent, watching as Grace shoved a book in front of his face. "Tell me about Luminosa."

"That's the realm of light. They use a monarchy government structure that is like ours. They are the leaders of the light realm, and arguably the most powerful realm in Orenda." Father kind of disagrees with the last bit.

"Which event do they host each year?" Grace continued, showing no reaction to the first answer.

"The ball." Mark answered. "The Summer Solstice Ball. It's a grand event where all four light realms are invited to celebrate the longest day of the year. It's the largest ball in Orenda and people spend all year looking forward to it."

"Right." Grace said, moving her books aside as she pulled a white and gold envelope out from the back of the book. The wax seal on it contained a symbol that Mark recognized, but one that he never expected to see in the realm of darkness.

"What is that?" Mark asked, looking away. The white and gold was beginning to bother him, too bright for a realm like his.

"Looks like the King of Luminosa decided to invite the dark realms this year."
