The Shukla siblings with Jay, Mahi and Adi were sitting in the lawn after breakfast the next day. The preparation were in full swing for the wedding. Zoro had come to sleep with him last night. They had played some games and Sid has asked him to sleep at his usual bedtime, remembering his conversation with Maa that morning.
Sid: Neetu shoulder daba de yaar.... Yeh idiot ne pura apna weight mere hath pe daal diya. Shukar kar hath tuta nhi mera. Nahi to shadi mujhe tute hath lekar karni padti.
Mahi: Aur uske baad jo problem hoti vo alag.
Sid: Abe... Mahi Tu... Bakwaas band kar...
Jay: Sid tujhe iska chehra dekhna chahiye tha. And only I know that expression.
Sid: Itna bhi kya darta hai tu apne biwi se...
Jay: Beta?? Ek baar shadi ho jaane de, sab pata chal jaayega. Abee kitni baar to Maine sofe pe soo ke raat guzari hai.
Sid: Mere sath aise kuch nhi hone wala. Meri wali bahot acchi hai.
Mahi: Matlab hum bure hai??
Sid: Vo certificate Jay dega tujhe mai nhi. Mai to sirf apne wali ko dunga. A+ hai sab me vo.
Adi: Tabhi to Mai bolta hu, itni acchi mili kaise tujhe??
Sid: Kyuki mai bhi bahot accha hu.
They all started laughing and Sid gave an angry look.
Sid had hired professionals to make arrangements at the villa. He wanted their wedding night to be memorable. He had instructed them about everything. How and what he had wanted. He was so hungry for Sana. He doubted he will last for more than few minutes on their night. He just wanted to strip her naked and plunge into her. The thought made him feel hot and wanting, and so he went and dived into to pool, surprising everyone. Sid then came out and walked to his room embarrassed by his act.
The day went very slowly. Sid had been counting the hours. Adi and Jay offered him to take him to the club, but he denied. He said he was not interested in such type of distraction.
Adi: Chal tujhe bachelor party dete hai.
Sid: Mujhe nhi chahiye yeh sab kuch. Tum logo ko jaana hai to jaao.
Jay: Bhai hum to tera dil behlane ke liye keh rahe the.
Sid: Nahi behalta mera dil un sab cheezo se.
Jay gave Sid an understanding pat on his back.
Adi: To kya karna chahta hai tu??
Zoro came running towards Sid.
Zoro: Papa, mama ne kaha hai ki aap mujhe kheer khilvao.
Sid picked his son in his arms.
Sid: Ha ha kyu nhi meri jaan.... Adi yeh karna chahta hu mai.
He winked at his friends, turned and left to feed kher to his son.
Sana was laying in her room in the late evening, when Mahi barged in.
Sana sat up at Mahi's grim face.
Sana: Kya hua di??
Mahi: Yeh Siddharth hadd karta hai.
Sana got down from the bed.
Sana: Kya?? Kya hua di??
Mahi: Aree uss photographer ke assistant ko aise collar se hava me uper utha kar hila raha tha...
Sana: Siddharth ne?? Kyu??
Mahi: Vo assistant pata nhi laptop pe tere pics dekh raha tha, aise yeh kehta hai, jab ke vo bol raha tha ki vo unwanted fotos delete kar raha tha.... Pata nhi...
Sana remembered the scene from Mahi's marriage when that waiter was staring at her, he had taken him too by the collar and she too was punished for not being careful. Sana went wet remember how her mehndi applied hand had been in the air, when he had taken her on the lap and lifted her lehenga and thrust himself into her.
Mahi: Tu kya aise lal ho rahi hai??
Sana: Haa... Vo.... Mai... Aap puri baat batao di.
Mahi: Are hame to kuch pata nhi, par Siddharth keh raha tha ke vo vaha se paas ho raha tha aur usne dekha ke yeh banda tere pics ko ghur raha tha..
Sana: Fir??
Mahi: Fir kya, jab vo banda cheekne laga to hum sab vaha pahuche aur uss bande to Siddharth ke chungal se chudaya. Vo photographer ne apne assistant ko wapas bhej diya.
Sana: Di Siddharth kaisa hai ab??
Mahi: Sab ne shant karane ke koshish ki par vo maan he nhi raha tha.. Fir vaha usne Zoro ka ghabraya hua chehra dekha aur ekdm se shant ho gaya. Usne Zoro ko apne paas bulake gale lagaya, aur usse goodh me utha kar chala gaya.
Tears formed in Sana's eyes. This man loves her and their son so much.
Sana was strolling in the corridor after dinner. She was restless, because, she knew Sid must be too emotional now. She wanted to know how he is. But how?? She could message him, but she did not wanted to break the promise. It's just few hours now. They will be together forever after that.
Fresh breeze made her feel better. She heard footsteps and turned to her right to find herself in front of Sid. He must be returning from the dinning hall, she thought. Zoro was standing next to him, holding his dad's hand Sana saw surprise followed by pain in Sid's eyes, before he turned away from her. She too took a step back and stood leaning to the railing.
Sana: Zoro apne papa se pucho ke vo kaise hai??
Zoro: Papa, mama puch rahi hai ke aap kaise ho??
Sid: Zoro mama se pucho kya vo nhi jaanti, ki papa kaise hai??
Zoro: Mama papa puch rahe hai..... Vohi jo puch rahe hai.
Sana: Papa se kaho mai jaanti hu.... Aur ab bass thoda sa time baaki hai.
Zoro: Papa mama keh rahi hai ki ab thoda time baaki hai.
Sid: Zoro apni mama se kaho ab 15 hrs baaki hai.
Zoro: Mama ab 15 hours baaki hai.
Sana: Bass 15 hours.
Zoro: Mama papa aap dono ek dusre se baat kyu nhi kar rahe ho??
Sana pulled Zoro to her.
Sana: Zoro mama aur papa ek game khel rahe hai. Jisme mama ko papa se 15 hours tak baat nhi karni hai.
Zoro: Aur yeh game kon jit sakta hai mama.
Sana: Yeh game mai aur papa dono jitenge.
Zoro: Accha?? Dono??
Sana: Ha dono...
Zoro: Aur uska prize bhi aap dono ko milega??
Sana: Ha...
Zoro: Kab milega??
Sana: Kal raat ko.....
It slipped from Sana's mouth and She felt Sid breathe heavily.
Zoro: Mama...
Sana: Baby ab aap apne papa se kaho ke, aaj raat aaraam se so jaaye. Kal ka din hamaare liye bahot important hai.
She then whispered slowly so that only Sid could hear.
Sana: Aur raat bhi.
Zoro: Papa mama ne kaha ke kal bahot important hai.... Papa kal toh aapki shaadi hai. Kya vo important hai??
Sid: Ha meri jaan bahot important.
Sid: Chale beta. Apni mama ko goodnight bolo.
Zoro: Goodnight mama,I love you..... Papa aapki taraf se I love you bolna hai??
Sana giggled and Sid's heart skipped a beat.
Sid: Ha beta bol de.
Sana: I love you too meri jaan.
Sid has slept peacefully at night. He was woken in the morning by Zoro.
Zoro: Papa utho....
Sid: Kya hai meri jaan?? Aaja tu bhi mere paas so jaa. Thodi der baad uthte hai.
Zoro: Nahi papa utho... Mujhe susu aayi hai...
Sid: Beta jaau na fir...
Zoro: Papa bathroom ka darwaza nhi khul raha hai... Jaldi...
Sid: Abee yaar...Zoro.....Accha...Chalo..
Sid force walked himself towards the bathroom and opened the door. Zoro entered and Sid came back and lay on the bed. He must have dozed again, when Zoro shook him again.
Zoro: Papa utho na?? Brush kar lo. Maine kar liya..
Sid: Hmmm good good aajao mere pass, let jaao.
Zoro: Nahi papa aap uth jaao.. . . Yaad nhi?? Aapki aaj shaadi hai. Mama ke sath.
And it registered to Sid. He sat upright at once.
Sid: Ohh F.....
He stopped himself before he said that word. He has to be very careful when he speaks or does something. His actions yesterday had scared Zoro and he regrets it. Last night he had pulled his son to him, picked him up and taken him to the swimming pool area. He had coaxed the child and calmed himself too. If it was not for Zoro, he would have broken that pervert's neck.
Sid: Mai to bhul he gaya baby... Mai abhi fresh hokar aata hu. Fir hum breakfast karenge. Ok??
Zoro: Ok.
Sana had, had her lunch. It was 11:30. Mahi had asked her to lay down for few minutes as it is going to be a hectic day for her today. The guests too were served an early lunch as the rituals were to start exactly at 3:09 and all had to be ready by then. Sana's mami came to inform her and Mahi, to be ready as five women would come and give her a bath, applying some fragrance to her body and washing it with milk and rose petals. Five women came and gave her the customary bath. Mahi then asked Sana to wash herself clean and come as the beautician were to be there any minute.
Sid was looking dashing in an Indian traditional kurta pajama. Adi and Jay were with him. There was a knock on the door and Maa entered. She saw Sid and her eyes filled with tears. Sid went to her and took her in his arms.
Maa: Mujhe kabhi nhi laga tha, ke mai yeh din dekh paungi.
Sid stroke her back, his eyes wet too.
Sid: I love you Maa.
Maa: I love you too beta. Mai yeh dekhne aayi the ke to ready ho gaya ya nhi??
Jay: Vo to kabh se ready hai aunty.
Sid: Maa yeh ghodi vodi kyu?? I really feel very awkward.
Maa: Kar le beta. Tere beheno ko apne armaan pure karne de.
Sid: Thek hai. Jaise aap kaho.
Adi: Waise bhi gadhe ko ghode pe baitha hua dekhne ka mauka hame kab milega??
Sid: Maa aapko nhi lagta yeh kuch zyada he bolne laga hai?? Iski shadi kara do ab. Aap bol rahe the na ke aapke nazar me koi ladki hai??
Adi: Abee oyee.... Chup kar. Mai shadi nhi karne wala hu.
Maa: Kaise nhi karega. Ab Siddharth ke fikar khatm hue. Ab mujhe teri bhi karva deni hai.
Adi: Maa aap ab aaram karo... Aise koi jaldi nhi hai.
Sid: Are Maa aise kaise jaldi nhi hai. Iski umar nikli jaa rahi hai.
Maa: Tu sahi keh raha hai Siddharth.... Mumbai jaate he mai Mrs gupta se baat karti hu.
Adi: Aree yaar kaha fass gaya....Maa aap suno meri baat.
Sid: Haa haa pakka karna Maa. Mai yaad dila dunga aapko.
Maa: Ha ha yeh sahi hai. Siddharth tujhe lene teri behene aayengi tab Tu aa jaana niche.
Sid: Ok Maa...
Sid turned towards Adi.
Sid: Check and Mate. What goes comes back sweetheart. Bahot sataya hai tune Mujhe. Ab gin gin ke badla lunga.
Adi: Ha ha. Rehne de. Maa jaakar bhul jaayegi.
Sid: Yeh teri bhul hai. Aur agar Maa bhul gayi to Mai hu na... Yaad dilata rahunga.
The baarat arrived at the ceremony site with great joy. Sid had climbed the horse with ease as he was used to riding horses. He took Zoro with him. Zoro was scared at first, but relaxed after his dad pulled him back closer to him and said soothing words to calm him down. Zoro too was looking handsome like his dad. Amidst music and dancing the Gill family welcomed the baarati's by tossing akshat on them. Sid was presented with an arti and a garland and Sana's mom administered a tilak on his forehead.
They entered the mandap. Sid's heart was beating fast. He was going to be a married man today. This is real. He had dreamt of it so many times in these past years. And now she is going to be his. Only his. The jingling sound of bangles and anklets, made his heart race faster. He felt her coming from his right. He so wanted to turn and look her way. But he felt paralyzed. Her fragrance making him feel dizzy. Panditji instructed that Sana sit next to Sid. And she did. Her shoulder brushed to his in the process. His body trembled. He took a long breath and tried to calm himself.
The ceremony began with the prayer to Lord Ganesha, the God of beginnings and good fortune and the remover of obstacles. Salutations were offered so that Ganesha may pave the way for the couple's married life. The gotra of both to- be- weds were announced.
In Hindu tradition, no bridegroom can claim a bride until she is offered. The moment the father gives away the bride is called kanyadaan. And so Sana's papa placed Sana's hand in Sid's as a gesture of giving her away. There were tears in her papa's eyes. Sana's heart too felt heavy. She wanted to go and hug her crying dad, but stopped herself. Her dad's only wish was to get her settled and happy in life and now his wish has come true.
Sid looked around. The mandap was beautifully decorated with flowers, greenery, fabrics and crystals. The fire was kindled in the center of the mandap. He wanted to take everything in. He wanted this scene to be imprinted in his head and heart forever. They will be traditionally joined together by the blessings of their parents and God. He thought with pride.
Then panditji asked the bride and the bridegroom to stand up as they were to exchange garlands during the Jai Mala. Sid stood up. He had still not looked at Sana. Sana too stood up with the support of Sid's sisters. They faced each other. And then he saw her. He felt heat seep into his body and sweat form in his palms and upper lips. She was looking divine and hot at the same time. She was wearing a red lehenga with beautiful patterns and gold Embroidery. The necklace adorning her delicate neck send shiver through his body. He was lost. He was totally lost. Adi had to shake him, so that he comes back from his trance. Adi came closer and whispered.
Adi: Hosh me aa beta, nhi to bhabhi rasta dekh dekh kar, mandap chod kar chali jaayegi.
Sid: Shubh shubh bol gadhe. Muh Todd du tera mai.
Preeti: Siddharth, Sana wait kar rahi hai.
He looked at his bride with all the love he felt for her and gave her a smile. She smiled back. He felt she too was feeling nervous. He did not break eye contact with Sana, when they exchanged the garlands. The Jai mala symbolises the partners welcoming each other into their families.
Once the jai mala ceremony was complete they were told to sit back in their seats. Now the Panditji instructed Sid to drape the mangalsutra around Sana's neck. Traditionally, Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity is invoked in the Mangalsutra and the bride is said to receive blessings throughout her married life. He looked to his left to find Neetu standing with a box with mangalsutra in it. Sid smiled at her, picked the mangalsutra from the box and tied it around Sana's neck. His hands brushed on the back of her neck and Sid felt her shiver. Their eyes met and she gave him a secret smile.
Sid and Sana were again told to stand up. This time for the pheras. This significant ceremony will mark the ultimate union of Sid and Sana. Sid forwarded his hand and Sana took it as support to stand up. Sana's veil and Sid's sash were tied together, before the pheras started. Each pheras comes with a different promise that the bride and groom vow to each other. In order to lead a blissful martial life. The priest recited those promises in Sanskrit and asked the couple to repeat after him. He then explained the meaning of those seven vows while conducting the ceremony. Sid looked at Sana with pride when all the pheras were complete and they stood next to each other. Those vows they made to each other were so pure and meaningful.
The couple was once again told to sit down. Now came the time for applying the sindoor. Sindoor a red powder applied to the part of the woman's hair symbiosis her new status as a married woman once the ceremony is complete. When Sana shifted towards him, so he could apply the sindoor, her fragrance played with his nostrils, making him want to pull her to him and kiss her. Mahi bend down and whispered slowly so that only the couple could hear.
Mahi: Tujhe pata Sana yeh sindoor kyu lagate hai??
Sana did not say anything.
Mahi: The ingredients with which the sindoor is prepared help control your body temperature and blood pressure and it also boosts your libido.
Sid and Sana both looked at Mahi with a shocking expression.
Sid: Shut up Mahi.
Mahi: Aree par yeh sach hai.
Sid: Will you shut up??
He look around and saw everyone around them hiding a smile. He then looked at his wife. She had gone red. He then bend towards her and whispered.
Sid: Jaana tu sindoor roz lagana.
