Chapter 5: His choice

The next day, Chris text street to know if if he wants to go out,

Chris: « Hey, I know a good Thai restaurant in town, if you want to go out today 🙄 »

Street: « Hi, morning. Are you saying me you wanna spend the day with me Christina Alonso ? 😏»

Chris « Actually, I'm just boring and I need someone to spend time and pay the restaurant 😉 »

Street « Well it's sound great, I'm boring too but all the feminists in this country are hating you rn.

Anyway, I'll pick you up at 12, be ready😘 »

Chris: « I will »

After the restaurant, they decides to go to cinema, at the other end of town be cause no-one should see them together.

They are in the cinema when she puts her head on his shoulder, he can feels her hairs around his cheek. He smiles and decides to puts his hand on her thigh.

She feels his heart speeding up more and more and more faster, she sees his chest rising up faster and faster.

She looks at him,

« Hey, are you okay ? » she asks

He looks at her, trying to hide how much he is scared

« We should go out » she said

They leave the cinema and go to the parking, when they come out, she takes his hand, saying

« What was that ? »

« It's just...sometimes it happened but.. it's nothing, it's not weird after transplant surgery,...trust me Chris,

I just need some fresh air » he said

She looks at him, not very sure she should trust me in this but she doesn't want to fight right now.

« Okay, the beach is not so far from here, you want to go ? » She asks

« Yeah, this is all I need right now, the sea, the sun and you » He responds

She looks at him, thinking how cute he is, by this time, she can't refuses him anything

Walking under the pontoon, foot in the sea, she splashes him with some water.

"Oh my god, you shouldn't done that"

he takes her in his arms, trying to put her in water, she struggles and yells at him.

They're both laughing and he puts her down, looking at her with a big smiles

« What » she asks, smiling too

« Nothing, I just...I just wonder...hmm...what this four past few years could've been if ... we .... If we admitted our feelings for each other sooner » He says with an hesitant voice

« Well you know, I think we were both not ready for this, I didn't know you enough to trust you so... I think it wouldn't worked. Now... we know each other as hell, we can make this thing work, we... we know as you said.. this thing is real and ... it's not gonna change » she replies

He smiles because she never talked about them like this

Street: « Yess, but now ...I...I want to be with you and still work with you because.. I trust you like anyone. And..I know it's impossible and even if we keep this secret. I want to scream to the world you're mine and..In some years, I mean I know it's not today but.. some day Hondo, Deacon and Luca will be not here anymore and.. we will be the next 20david leader, I...I don't wanna fight with you on this, you... deserves it and I know you would be perfect as a leader but I also want to be a leader one day. 

So.. I know you never asked me to do that...but.. I'm going to leave the team in September... »
