He lazily ambled around, stalling as he didn't want to go to class. It was a Monday and he wasn't ready for the school day. His lazy thoughts were interrupted by the school bell, signalling the start of the day. Most students by now would have their books, but he didn't. He didn't care and he didn't want to care, in his eyes school wasn't important. As long as he passed he believed it'd be fine.

He eventually ended up in the classroom, even though he was 20 minutes late. He surprisingly didn't get a detention slip. Probably because they had a nice substitute for maths today. Kageyama didn't hate ALL subjects. He liked PE and loved literature. He got to express himself and his feelings- and he had loads of those.

The class dragged on until the bell went. He excitedly stood up and ran to his lockers. He said hi to Hinata, his best friend, before getting his books and heading to literature. He got to class first and engaged in small talk with the teacher, they surprisingly got along.

The way their school worked was that they are divided into different classes for each subject depending on their capabilities. Kageyama is usually in the second lowest class, class E, but for literature he is in the smartest class, class A. The only other person he knows in this class is Tsukishima. They only recently started being in the same class though as Kageyama was in class B until last week Wednesday when he was pushed up.

Tsukishima and Kageyama sit next to each other, only to avoid having to talk to other people. Their interactions aren't much, but during this class they surprisingly get along. It's not like they talk to each other that much, but if someone thinks of a joke, they'll tell the other and laugh. They also help each other out and read through each other's stories to improve them.

They barely talk while doing all of this but it's much better than them practically everywhere else. They aren't friends, that's for sure, but they can no longer say that they completely hate each other.

The class involved writing a poem about your desk mate. This meant that Kageyama and Tsukishima had to write poems about each other. Although they grunted in disagreement they were both secretly excited. Kageyama stared at Tsukishima trying to look for inspiration. For the first time ever he noticed how damn handsome Tsukishima is. His blonde locks, golden brown eyes, pink plump lips and cute little nose. His soft looking skin. Everything about him was drop dead gorgeous. Kageyama blushed and tried to push the thoughts out of his head.

The class finished and they handed each other their poems. Neither of them wanted to read it in front of each other as it was 'embarrassing'. They took their leave, politely saying by to the Teacher, before parting ways. As soon as Tsukishima was out of sight, Kageyama opened the piece of paper. Tsukishima did the same.

Kageyama's Poem to Tsukishima:
Mask
Your eyes hold one thousand stories
Your actions tell more
Your heart is open to all
But yet you seem like a bore
I know there's something deeper
The facade slowly tore
As I spend time with you
I realise you're not a whore
It's all just a mask
A mask can be torn

Tsukishima's Poem to Kageyama:
We're The Same
I know the look in your eyes
The feeling of emptiness
Not being able to hide
But not wanting to open the blinds
The darkness can be kind
But we both have to move forward
We may not be friends
Damn we may even be enemies
But I know we can make amends
Because we are the same
Living a lie
Hiding behind a facade

Kageyama read the poem and felt his eyes start to water. It was only a poem. A task they had to do. But he related to it. He understood the meaning of it and knew it was targeted for him. This poem was the truth. A truth no one has seen through his exterior except his rival, the only blonde haired middle blocker he knows.

Tsukishima's glasses fogged up as hot tears started falling. His facade was breaking and slowly the fake ness of everything was breaking him- but that is a topic for another day. Kageyama understood him and knew what he felt, but he knew he still had to keep the fake ness up. 'He just has to be a man and stay strong'. That's what his father told him, and fathers always right.

The bell went to both their surprises. It had only felt like 2 minutes but apparently it had been 10. A surprising announcement was made.

"Can the first years please head to the Auditorium. It's time for the second gender test." The speaker boomed.

Kageyama was excited as he was confident he'd be a beta. His parents AND sister were beta's, so surely he'd be one too! He was surprised since they weren't notified about the test being today but he didn't really care.

The tests were taken through the whole period. Most people were worried but Kageyama wasn't. He expected good results.

Tsukishima on the other hand was one who was worrying. If he wasn't an Alpha, his father would throw a fit- and those are SCARY.

-Time Skip-

School had finished a couple hours ago and everyone was waiting for the notification that would come through any time now. Kageyama heard a ping and quickly opened his school emails.

Hello Kageyama Tobio. Here are your results,
Second Gender: Omega

Kageyama dropped his phone in shock. Him an omega?! That's the worst option in his eyes.

Tsukishima, in his own house, also received the notification.

Hello Tsukishima Kei. Here are your results,
Second Gender: Alpha

He sighed in relief and walked downstairs to tell his father, happy that nothing would happen to him.

Yeaaaaa this was a bit all over the place but hopefully it'll get better with time 😃
