Chapter 13: Surf

Ryujin's POV

It's finally the week for the competition and the whole team has been practicing hard as always and we all haven't properly rested since we all wanted to win this along with upcoming more competions if we want to go to Nationals by next year.

"Okay everyone! Break time for 10 mins then we'll proceed immediately. Be on time okay?" Coach Jung said

After coach announced a break, I immediately plopped down to the ground because I am exhausted as hell. I then see Chaeryeong and Yeji talking to each other and saw that they briefly glanced at me so I pretended that I didn't see that

If you're wondering what's happening, well it's not like Yeji and I have a problem, it's more of a me problem. Yes we still do talk but I'm sure y'all can guess there's an awkward atmosphere that's surrounding us whenever we talk or is that just me. I'm actually distant to her and I'm sure she noticed it but I'm not sure why she's still talking to me when I'm just treating like we're just acquaintances lately. My friends have also then been bugging me about it but I haven't told any of them yet and I know it's a matter of time before they all do and one thing for sure is that Chaeryeong would be the first to know because she'll scold me so much that I can't help but tell it to her

I was still lost on my thoughts when a water bottle appeared in front of me so I sat up and saw Yeji handing it to me. "Here, it's cold like what you always want to drink"

I then thanked her and flashed a small smile before deciding to lay down again but before I was about to do that, Yeji appeared again and handed me my towel so I can wipe my sweat

God, Hwang Yeji stop doing this to me. I can't handle it anymore. You're making me fall harder than ever

So I sat up properly again and reached out to get my towel but she doesn't want to give it to me. "Hey! It's hot, give it to me please"

She still shaked her head and sat down in front of me. She got closer and closer until our faces are only inches apart

"W-what are you doing Yeji?" I asked

"Isn't it obvious I'm going to wipe your sweat" She nonchalantly said then started wiping my sweat from my forehead to my cheeks down to my neck

I gulped at that and she saw that for sure but didn't say anything. One thing for sure as well is that my cheeks are probably flushed right now and good thing I can use the excuse that it really is hot because we've been dancing for hours now

"Uh w-why are you doing this?" I asked again

"Hmm nothing, I just wanted to" She replied then patted my cheek before flashing me a smile that made my heart flip and beat faster as she went back to her things

Oh god, help me survive this

I then roamed around and saw that Chaeryeong was looking at me while smirking a little so I glared at her but she just laughed at me. She then mouthed, "Let's talk later okay?"

Damn why is this scaring me

"About what?" I replied back but she just waved her hand signalling that she won't tell me so I was left wondering what the hell it could be

Unfortunately our break time is done so I then stood up and went back to our places as we will start in a few and let go of the thoughts bugging me about what Ryeong wanted to talk about

I then went to my things and fixed it then went to Chaeryeong who was waiting for me and well Yeji was there too
