A Part Of It (Avengers)

Chapter 42

"You don't even know how good it is to not be the only girl at this table." she laughed making me laugh too when I saw the guys looks, they couldn't understand why. Soon enough we saw Odin entering the hall and he started to speak, his voice so loud, I was actually looking around for a sound system I mean, the hall is huge and he was quiet far. I had to stop myself from thinking about that and I went on and listened to what he had to say,

"Dear All, today is one of the greatest in Asgardian history, my two sons and a young woman named Mahalia will go on a quest to help her find who she truly is. We all raise our glasses to them and may the journey be successful." he said and looked directly at us, by now Thor and Loki were standing and waving as if they had one the Super Bowl, I couldn't help but laugh and wonder why Odin kept calling me Mahalia.

After eating a huge breakfast that will most likely have me full for the whole day, we made our way to the stables where they prepared a horse for me as well as the horses for the two princes.

"Here Lady Mia, you will have everything you can possibly need on your quest, as well as food and water." Lucette, the maid came towards me and attached the bag to the back of my saddle. I thanked her and never having been on a horse before prayed that everything would go fine.

"Lady Mia are you ready?" Thor asked, concern clear in his eyes, I smiled at him and nodded, he nodded back and motioned for Loki to get on the horse, I eyed them and tried to copy their movement when they were going on the horse. I ended up sitting on my saddle rather well, as if I had done that all my life.

"So now where is the tree of Yggdrasil?" I asked them, as we were making our way out of the palace grounds and entering the village, I looked around and everyone seemed impressed to see the two princes on their horses, everyone screamed with happiness and bowed to them as they passed by,

"Hey I feel bad seen all those people bow and curtsy you, I mean I never bowed before any of you." I let out a small chuckle and I faintly heard Loki say,

"Well you should've." but was quickly hushed by Thor, once we were out of the village Loki made a map appear out of thin air.

"Where did you get that brother?" Thor asked while I was almost going to ask the same question,

"Father gave it to me so we would find our way, way easier than when he went to try and find the tree." I simply nodded and approached him to look at the map,

"Remind me how your father knows the tree?" I asked them, once we decided on a path to follow,

"Legend says he sacrificed himself to get more knowledge and hung on the tree, nine nights. Apparently forming a connection of some sort with it." Thor said, and I couldn't help but sigh,

"God I hope I don't have to hang on a tree for that long to get all I need to know on my mom." I almost heard Loki chuckle at what I was saying and I looked at him and smiled,

"You're not that bad you know?" I told him and he tried to ignore me but I think I intrigued him,

"Whatever do you mean?" he said being all sophisticated and stuff,

"Well, I mean that you have walls but behind those you're nice and I kinda like you. In a distant cousin kind of like." I laughed a bit and Thor did too, I saw a small smile play on Loki's lip and he said,

"You're not too bad yourself, for a... distant cousin?" he said and I chuckled nodding my head, I felt really at peace and good about the whole adventure, finding who I am thing, and it gave me strength to go on. We were riding our horses, sometimes in silence, sometimes we were telling each other stories about whatever happened to us in a certain time and place. Until I became tired, but not the sleepy tired kind of tired, but the 'I use too much my powers' tired and I think they felt it when I wasn't paying attention to the story of the day Loki transformed in a snake and tried to kill Thor when they were kids.

"Mia are you okay?" I heard Loki say as he approached me on his horse,

"I don't feel so good." I tell him and both of them stopped and managed to make my horse stop, I soon realised they were taking me off my horse and sitting me down on the grass, trying to make me take deep breaths. My head was spinning I was feeling numb, I was tired.

"Thor look!" I heard Loki say, I looked in the same direction as them and saw an enormous tree, that funny enough I hadn't see that close to me when I was on the horse.

"Yggdrasil." was all I said before blacking out.

Loki's POV

She blacked out, as if someone had shut her down.

"What should we do now?" Thor asked, how could I know, I was rarely with people around and this right here was one of the main reasons, because I didn't know how to deal with people and for me they were just burdens, but for some reason, I did like her, like a distant cousin of mine and her little mischief were kind of amusing. I looked around trying to find an idea, but as soon as I saw the tree glowing I knew what we had to do.

"Let's take her and lay her by the roots of the tree. It glows just like her when she uses her powers." I tell Thor, he just nodded and took her in his arms bridal style, and he laid her near the roots of the tree, which was really gigantic,

As soon as we laid her there, her whole body turned into this glow she always had when using her powers, and it was as if she was becoming one with the tree in a weird way. We could see her eyes moving underneath her closed eyelids, I was intrigued. I forced myself into her mind but it was blocked, completely shutting me out of there, I ran a hand in my hair and sighed in frustration.

"What is it brother?" Thor asked, I knew he was concerned,

"I cannot seem to go inside her mind, there's this wall so strong that I wan't even penetrate her thoughts. But I am not sure that she is a 100% sleeping." I tell him and he sat down, a few feet away from Mia, probably scared of what the tree would do if he were to be too close, I laughed at him internally, the mighty Thor scared? Ah.

"Then I guess we shall wait then." he said, but waiting wasn't my forte, so I stood there watching her in case she were to wake up at any second, and after the first hour I understood that it wasn't going to happen anytime soon. So I sat next to Thor and made a book appear in front of me, but still as captivating as that book was, I wanted to know what was in her mind.

After what seemed like hours finally we saw her moving and seat up quickly, she was panting heavily, we ran towards her to see how she was doing.

"I know now." was all she said before she fell into my arms in, what now I was sure of, a deep sleep.

Hiiiii guys, so sorry I took so long to update I really wanted to make this chapter perfect but somewhat I still feel like it's not enough... 

Anyway, we will soon know what she discovered at the tree of Yggdrasil 🥰
