1. goodbye...

It's the day after they won the finals and made it to Koshien. Coach told everyone to take a day's rest before they start practicing again.

So, the team made their way to meet up with their senpai's from last year to celebrate the team's win for the first time in years.

Sawamura saw Chris and ran to him yelling "Chris senpai! Chris senpai! We won! Did you see?"

"Oi Bakamura! Why're you yelling." Kuramochi said catching up to the boy and tackling his neck.

"Mochi-nii I give! I give!" Sawamura said struggling to breathe.

"It's okay Kuramochi we all know it's one of his habits." Chris said smiling a bit.

"Eh? Sawamura you looked like a real champ yesterday." Ryousuke said smirking at him.

"Really Oni-san?!" Ryousuke laughed at the boy's nickname for him and ruffled his hair.

Everyone was having a good time, Yuki and Isashiki were on their way so the others stood outside waiting for them.

While Sawamura was waiting, he got a call from his friends back at home congratulating him on his win with Seido and asking him why he didn't tell them about it the moment they won. While he was busy apologizing he glanced and saw Chris and Miyuki talking a little further away from him but as soon as he was about to take his eye off them, he spotted a truck speeding towards their direction and moving fast.

He reacted immediately and dropped his phone running towards them as fast as he could.

'Will I make it in time? I can't let anyone die here when I was the one who suggested we should do this!'

He made it just in time to push them out of the way at the same time the truck was coming and hit Sawamura instead.

"Oi Sawamura you brat why did you-" He cut his self-off in mid-sentence seeing Sawamura lying there with tons of blood spilling out of his body.

Miyuki hurriedly ran to the boy and everyone including the boys and Chris who were buying drinks in the cafe nearby heard the crash and ran to see what happened hoping it wasn't anyone of their friends.

"What happened we heard something crash and-" Kuramochi said running towards Chris with the others but stopped when he sees Chris shaking hard with his phone to his ear while seeing Miyuki touching someone's body shouting and calling the person's name, but he couldn't believe that the person who was on the brink of death was his roommate Sawamura.

"Sawamura! Sawamura stay with me! We can't go to nationals without you remember!" Miyuki said crying trying to stop the boy from losing blood.

Sawamura was having trouble breathing and his eyes were getting dizzy.

"We need an ambulance right now godamnit! Hurry!" Chris said in the phone getting angry as to why they were taking so long.

Haruichi started crying hugging Furuya tight. Furuya didn't know what to do while staring at his rival and friend who was bleeding non-stop.

"G-guys don't cry, this was *cough* supposed to be a happy day," Sawamura said laughing lifelessly.

"Don't laugh baka, it's not funny." Miyuki cried with a pained expression on his face. Sawamura smiled softly.

"Tell my f-family I love them and I'm so happy that I got to *cough* play with you all *cough* even though I wasn't the ace," Eijun tried to do his usual big smile but winced at the pain it caused.

People started gathering nearby staring at the scene. Yuki and Isashiki just arrived at the sidewalk of the cafe where they were supposed to meet but saw the chaos and immediately ran to the scene to see what was going on.

They were surprised by their teammates crying and couldn't believe their eyes when they saw Sawamura lying on the ground bleeding.

"C-Chris... thank you for always being there for me even when I was always a pain in the ass." Sawamura showed a weak smile "And Miyuki, thank you for everything."

Eijun touched Miyuki's cheek with a weak smile "I love you." he said lowly closing his eyes trying to bare the pain in his head.

"Eijun don't go... please," Miyuki begged.

The ambulance came and hurriedly carried Sawamura to the hospital.

Coach and Rei heard about the accident on the phone call with Chris after he called the ambulance. Rei called his parents struggling not to cry while telling them the bad news.

Everyone made their way to the hospital to check up on their friend hoping and praying that he was alive and well. 

But sadly, the doctors came back confirming his time of death. The boys were a crying mess.

Miyuki wanted to punch the person who was driving that truck, but he couldn't do anything cause that bastard drunk driver also died in the crash.

"I love you too baka." Miyuki mumbled quietly clenching his fists and lowering his head.

hi luvs! I'm currently going through the book chapter by chapter and making changes (basically rewriting the book and editing it) but I won't be making any extreme changes 

(xy from the future: I lied, sorry😬. it's just that I was cringing a lot and couldn't get through the book without closing my eyes and making those extreme changes. sorry)

 I just want to make the characters more similar as to how their personality was in the anime. 

also over my long (current💀) hiatus I still didn't get any better at writing. I just really love the idea that this book came from so please don't bash me.
