Can't I just date her instead?

I'd actually prefer that over anything else.

"Okay." Tumango na lang ako.

"Anyway, what are you up to these days? Are you still partying? Dating some guys?" I asked out of curiosity. Alam ko naman na wala siya ngayong dinedate pero gusto ko pa rin namang malaman kung anong ginagawa niya sa buhay niya aside from finding girls for me to date or taking care of her sister Lana or studying in her Law School.

She thought for a while before smiling, "Now that you've mention it, I actually have some kind of appointment this Friday." She nodded as if reminding herself.

"What about it?"

"Darating yung long-time friend ko, si Tristan. He grew up in US and he decided to take a vacation here. I was supposed to meet him this Friday so I can tour him around." She said casually. Nagpanting naman ang tainga ko when I heard a guy's name. And what did she say? A long-time friend? Tour him around? This Friday?

I was frowning nung mapansin ako ni Eleanor kaya napakunot ang noo niya, "What's wrong? Bakit parang bitter ka na naman diyan?" tanong niya.

Napailing ako at hindi umimik. My mood went bad for some reason. My thoughts were drifted to the guy whatever the hell his name is whom she's going to meet, who also happened to be her long-time friend.

"Are you like on a date... this Friday? With this Tristan guy, whoever he is?" tanong ko.

Napanguso si Eleanor at napaisip, before shrugging. "Hindi ko alam pero you can call it a friendly date, I guess. We haven't seen each other for a long time."

My frown deepened and my face fell. Damn, I can't let her meet that man! Wala akong pakealam kung long-time friend niya iyon or what.

"Do you like him?" dagdag ko pa. Hindi ko alam pero bigla akong kinabahan sa isasagot niya. If she likes him,what will I do?

Maybe I will have to kill that guy and Eleanor will forget about him eventually.

I was shocked with my own thoughts.

Wow, I never thought I could be that brutal.

"It's easy to like people, you know. He's nice and funny so you can say that I like him." She said non-chalantly. I pursed my lips into a thin line. She had no idea I was fighting the urge to go out right now and hunt the man down.

"So you like nice and funny guys?" I asked. If that's the case, then she won't like me right? I'm too bitter and stupid for her liking.

Napakunot ang noo ni Eleanor na para bang nagtataka sa mga tinatanong ko. "I don't have a specific type when it comes to guys. It just depends on how I relate to them. Why are you asking all those kinds of questions, anyway?"

I shrugged before looking away. I wanted to tell her something pero hindi ko alam kung paano ko sasabihin. Heck, I don't even know what to say.

"Never mind. Kumain ka na lang." I told her and she gladly obliged. Napabuntong hininga na lang ako, trying to conceal my brutal and barbaric thoughts.

I'm acting like a jealous boyfriend.

Wait, whoa. Who said I was jealous?

That's a different thing. That's another thing.

Then why the fuck are you being weird and possessive all of a sudden? One part of my mind says. I shrugged it off and continued to eat my lunch.

I know I can do something about Eleanor meeting the Tristan guy but should I do it?

Ugh. This is ridiculous. Why am I even making a big deal out of it?!

"I'll just text you the details, okay? Maybe you can meet her on Friday." Bilin niya sakin. I nodded absent-mindedly. Kakatapos lang namin kumain and we're already back in my office.

When I had finally comprehended what she said, "Wait, does that mean na wala ka sa date namin?" tanong ko.

"Yup, I have to meet Tristan remember?"

"You told me that you'll be there whenever I'll meet a woman." I pointed. I sound childish pero ayokong mawala dun si Eleanor.

She shrugged, "Mabilis lang naman yun. Dadaanan ko na lang kayo to check how you're doing." I doubt it. I told myself. Alam ko namang magiging busy siya sa so-called friendly date niya.

And I'll be stuck with a stranger while Eleanor is out there on a fcking date with a long-time friend.

What if he likes her too? What if they end up being together? What if?

What if Bullsht.

Whatever my reasons are, I won't let that happen. Not now, not ever.
