Y/N tapped her foot anxiously on the ground, Max decided that she wanted to pick out Y/N's outfit for her first date. She was a nervous wreck for her first date although it already seemed they were dating way before they actually were a couple, so there was no need to be as scared.

"Y/N, relax, it's just a small date, you've done this before," Max affirmed while she set down her outfit on the bed, "You two already had dates even though you weren't dating yet, it was just as friends so I don't get why you're so freaked out."

"Max, I know but now that we actually are something, what if he doesn't like me? Gosh, I sound stupid," Y/N threw herself onto the bed groaning, "It's just like....... what if he regrets asking me to be his girlfriend?"

Max scoffed as she sat next to Y/N and held her hand, "It's okay, when he's babysitting us, he can't shut up about you and how much he loves you to the point Dustin wants to leave the house. If he doesn't like you, I'll kick his ass for you."

"Gee thanks," Y/N mumbled and got up to direct Max out of the room, "Out! I need to change!"

"Can I come in now?" Max inquired, opening the door to find Y/N combing her hair, "You look really pretty!"

"Woah, okay, thanks," Y/N giggled and put on a necklace on, "Wish I could just bring you to help me."

"No, you should just go for yourself, anyways you deserve the little break," Max nudged her shoulder, "You and Steve can finally have that alone time, you've been wanting in a long time."

"Yeah, sure as if we're going to do something wrong," Y/N cringed at the words she said. She got up to look in her window to find Steve's car in front of her house, "Shit! He's here, uh..... come on!"

"Oh come on Steve, she's already your girlfriend so you don't need to worry about making an impression on her," Dustin assured, "She talks about you 24/7 and it drives me nuts."

"But what if she...... ugh you just made me more paranoid than I was, thanks," Steve fixed his hair in the mirror of the car and turned to Dustin who was sitting in the back, "How do I look?"

"Alright."

"What do you mean alright?" Steve snapped back, anxiously.

"Okay okay, you look good for her liking," Dustin opened the door of the car to get out, "Now hurry you're gonna be late!"

Y/N went downstairs to find her parents sitting on the couch watching a television show, M/N turned around to find Y/N dressed up.

"Where are you going?" She inquired, cocking an eyebrow upwards.

"Um.... out?" Y/N answered, trying to hide her face.

"With who?" Her dad chimed in.

Y/N looked down at her feet, "Steve....."

"You're dating him?" Both parents exclaimed, "Or just as friends?"

"Well, we just became a thing now," Y/N peered at the window, she didn't want to keep Steve waiting, "I've got to go, bye!"

"Wow, we're so happy for you!"

"Yeah....Thanks." Y/N nodded and headed out the door. She wasn't as connected with her parents anymore, they gradually stopped fighting but did have occasional issues, Y/N wanted to feel independent for once. Finally.

Steve was peering out of the window to find Y/N with a gorgeous outfit on her. He smiled at the sight of her beauty, she was so breathtaking. Y/N opened the car door to sit next to him.
