It only took 1 second for the immortal's eyes to widen. You stood there, giving him a stern look, letting him think for himself for a second or two.
"H-Heather..?" A smile began to rise on his lips.
"No. It's (Y/n), the person you thought was Heather. Now you listen to me, I don't know what creepy things went on your mind to make you do this, but I can't remember anything between the 9th and the 17th of March, but all I do remember is finding out I was pregnant! Say hello to your son!" You, very kindly, introduced yourself, having replayed this moment in your head for months now. It still didn't play out as fluidly as you hoped it would. Quickly your mind was in a whirl, trying to think of what to do and say next. As you spoke that last sentence, you spun around to show Steve to his father for the first time.
"Hmf. No son of mine would be wearing pink." Herobrine huffed. Why was that of all things his first thought?!
"That, I have no control over. He's your son whether you like it or not." Unless, of course, there had been a big mistake as you had once suspected. There was silence for a brief moment as the man studied the 6 month old's face, doing the math in his head at the same time. Finally, there was the faintest to gasps.
You spun back around just as quickly, finding satisfaction in his widened eyes, a hand rising to loosely cover his mouth as it dropped open. At least he didn't just shove you away the moment you started talking.
The immortal spun back towards the darkness of the castle slowly, "Ooh..... s%$&!" He shouted, thrusting his arms down in a fury.
"Hey! No swearing around the baby!" You griped. It was just instinct at this point.
"Alright, listen listen.." He spun back to you quickly, almost chuckling with half a smile as he leaned against the door's threshold. "Just because he has my hair..my chin, my eyebrows...my.. nose... doesn't mean he's really mine! You must have him mistaken!" He attempted to laugh, though the anxiety forcing it out was obvious.
"I didn't even know who you were until I had his DNA tested." You stated plainly. The last ounce of protection between himself and reality dropped. Now leaving a sour kind of taste in his mouth, his mind wandering. (He be going through all the stages of grief lol)
"I... I didn't... I....... What do you want from me?" His shoulders dropped, his forehead now resting against the frame of the door as well. It was clear he had no more excuses to throw at you. At first you were just going to say money. He clearly had a lot of it! But.. something else entirely came out.
"I want answers." You said, un-crossing your arms. Herobrine inhaled.. then exhaled, slowly.
"...Yeah... That is your right. Come in, I guess..." The door was then opened fully to you. "But let me have a closer look at him first." The immortal determined. Your mother instincts kicked in, and you slapped the man's hand away as he reached out for Steve.
Realizing what you had done, you quickly decided to go along with it. "Tell me why, first. It's clear to me you know what I am talking about." You could suddenly feel the aura of energy rise in the air, remembering this was probably one of the most powerful immortals out there, who just realized he had son, and probably doesn't like not being able to investigate more into this. But, of course, he had promised you answers. You slid one of the backpack-like straps over your shoulder, carefully pulling little Steve between your arms where you felt him safer there.
"I'll let you explain first." You put your foot down, literally, just standing there now that you had no idea where to go. There were three different hallways, but no clear directions where everything was, or even if you should go anywhere potentially dangerous. Plus, you felt safer by the door anyways. The man tried to contain a huff as he pulled his hand away from the boy and looked down the halls.
