-----Time-skip to when the bebe has already been born because YEET!-----
"Thank you so much! I'll drop him off at your place in a few!" You exclaim, dark bags under your eyes. You slam the phone down(old type of (Minecraft)phone) the moment you have that resolved, and collapse onto the couch. [Son's name = Steve, because why not?!] is still sitting on the floor with his large blocks of wood, just staring at you silently with those big blue eyes of his. It's taken this one a while to start growing his hair in, but now you can see it as a dark brown. The little onesie he is wearing is a bright pink with white flower designs on it... It was the only one you could afford. "Listen," you exhale. "I don't know where you got that look in your eyes, but I can bet that was from your father's side." You point tiredly at the 5 month old. Steve stares a little more, no real emotion in that plump face of his. Then, he sneezes clumsily, almost falling over with how violently he did so. "Aaand, that's my dad's sneeze." You half chuckled.
After a few seconds, you roll off the couch, literally, and continue rolling until you reach the small one. At least Steve isn't like one of those really loud babies who screams a lot. He only does that when it's time for bed. For the next few minutes you tiredly move blocks around with Steve, occasionally trying to teach him how to stack them on top of each other. Finally, you look at the clock on the wall, seeing it is time to get up and move again. It is so close to the end of the day. You just need to do one more thing before you can call the day over.
"Alright, time to go, Stevie." You say, picking up the child. He attempts to squirm out of your arms, whining as he reaches for the blocks on the floor. Quickly you crouch down to pick up one of the smaller blocks for him to hold easily with just one hand, but not small enough for him to choke on. Content, Steve allows you to carry him to his stroller, push him down a couple blocks, and then hand him off to your sister in law, who was kind enough to take him in for the evening. She has been your go-to babysitter, with you having two jobs and a half now. It takes a lot to pay for all those diapers! As nice as Mrs. Magg has been this past almost year now, her limit has been babysitting, since she has no tolorance for diaper changing anyone; not even her own grand children. "Thank you again!" You thank your sister in law, as you quickly rush to the hospital. Inside, there is a small section dedicated to figuring out blood types and DNA. That's where you go.
"Evening, Miss (Y/n)." The doctor greets you when you enter.
"Um, yes. I am here to see the results for Steve. You enter awkwardly. It is obvious you haven't had the time to do anything to make yourself look more presentable. Making yourself look alive was a challenge enough.
"Ah, about that..." The old man dipped his head slightly.
"There, weren't any results.. we're there?" You begin to panic, your hands combing through your hair as your breathing intensifies a little. "Ohhhh, no.. What am I going to do..? I can't- I can't just give up! I at least need to know who it is so I can, you know, justice with the law or something like that!"
"Calm down, mam. Calm down... It isn't, exactly, that." The man made a face you make when you're being pinched.
"Huh?" You looked up at him, clearing the strands of hair out of your face.
"We found some matching DNA, just... It..... belongs to an Immortal." Again, you couldn't believe a thing you were hearing.
"...Pff! Naww.. An Immortal? Really? Those mAgiCaL, inhuman beings, who live in other dimensions with the power to destroy entire mountains if they wanted?! One of those?! Heh, I don't believe it!" Giving up on all things related to the hilarious idea, you take a step back, clapping briefly as you turn to go.
