Part 15- A Killer

Start from the beginning

"Stop! Stop right where you are!" I immediately warned him.

"Why can't I come to you?" He asked.

"Because I said so" I said.

"Zahara is the one after me, not me" he said.

"You let her touch you and hold you—why can't you stop her?" I had to ask him.

"You think she listens?" he asked instead.

"So if another girl also does that, you justify it like this?" I asked disappointed.

I felt like he wanted to say something but he was refraining from doing so.

"You know that's not what I mean I—"

"Ah! Aslan!" We both heard Zahara yelling from the room that she was in. We stared at each other alerted before running towards the room. She was on the floor wining in pain.

"What happened?!"Aslan worried bent down to her checking her out.

"I think she dropped the dictionary on her foot" I stated as I noticed the book on the floor near her.

"How did that even happen?!" he asked concerned. It was the first time I saw him show this much care to her.

"It slipped out of my hands, I don't think I can get up" she said struggling as she tried to.

" I got you" he said lifting her bridal style.

"Are you okay? Should I call someone?" I asked her but I was ignored.

"I'll bring her to the nurse's office, I'll be quick" he said before leaving in a hurry.

Ya Allah, I hope she's fine.

For the next few hours, I finished cleaning the gym alone and now I was outside almost finishing to clean the field. The sun was strong and shining brightly on me as I was grabbing all the soccer balls left on the field after having cleaned all the guest area. I swear I must have lost a bit of weight after all this cleaning and walking around.

Props to the janitor for working this hard every day. I feel like we never take the time to respect and admire their work. So what if they don't get paid as much as a teacher or a lawyer or even a doctor? At least they keep our school clean. At least they make sure we get a clean and neat place to study and play. They do this for us. And, we overview this all the time.

Aslan and Zahara never came back. It's a bit odd but I didn't think too much about it.

"I see that you did a pretty good job and that all alone as well" the janitor showed up.

"Thank you sir" I said.

"Where are your classmates?" he proceeds to ask.

"Oh they had to leave in urgency" I said.

"I see,"

"Adalina!" I turned my head towards the source of the voice and saw Fazal running my way. What is this guy doing here?

"What are you doing here young man?" the janitor asked as he tried to catch his breath.
