"Stymphalian birds." He grumbles.
"Excuse me?" You ask, thinking he might be mental too.
"Uh...nothing. Have you seen or been attacked by any other monsters or weird animals?"
"I've never been attacked until the pigeons, and a few times since running away, but I've been seeing them my whole life. Like tree people or flying horses...I've also being seeing more for the past year or so. They've been getting closer, before they only watched from a distance."
"She must be a Half-Blood." The kid murmurs.
"What?"
"Um, you said that you have been seeing more monsters in the past year?" You nod in affirmation. "How old are you?"
"Eleven."
"That explains it."
"Explains what? Who are you anyway?"
"Uh, I can't exactly explain everything now. But my name is Percy Jackson. You are...?"
"(Y/N). (Y/N) (Y/L/N)."
"Nice to meet you (Y/N). You need to come with me."
You immediately back away from Percy. "I thought you said you weren't going to turn me in!"
"No! That's not what I meant!"
You look at him suspiciously. "Then what do you mean?"
"There is this...summer camp for special people like you and me."
"You mean an insane asylum?"
"No!" Percy seemed agitated. "Listen, I know this is going to sound crazy, but this camp is for demigods. Half humans half gods. Like me, and probably you."
"Gods?"
"Yes! Chiron-our Director-will explain everything."
You fold your arms. "Prove it's real."
He shrugs. "Ok." He takes his pen, which he has been holding the whole conversation, and takes the cap off. Instantly a bronze, glowing sword appears.
You stumble backwards in shock. "Wha—how—?"
"Do you see a sword? Or a pen?"
"Um, that is clearly a sword...."
"See? Magic! Come with me (Y/N)! I can help!"
After a long time considering, you reluctantly agree. Only because you saw a pen turn into a sword though.
-TIME SKIP- (skip goes one week after. You are at Camp Half-Blood and have been training. You are still unclaimed)
You gut the straw dummy with your sword. You still are getting used to living with the fact that there are thousand-year-old Greek gods still alive, and that your father is one of them. After arriving, Chiron the Centaur had called your mother, though she didn't pick up. He explained that you were at a free summer camp and that your mom didn't have to worry. Not like she did anyway.
"Hey (Y/N)! What is going on?"
It is that kid who brought you here. Percy Jackson. You still don't trust him, or anyone else in the camp for that matter. You haven't spoken to him much since he found you in the streets. You had been dumped in the Hermes cabin, the most crowded of all. You hate being in it.
"Uh, hi. I'm just practicing...y'know."
"Want me to be your sparring partner? Those dummies don't teach you as much as real fighting."
