"Another fight?"
"Yea," he replied. She started writing on her notepad before looking up.
"You never clean yourself up, how come you did it this time?"
"I didn't."
"Who did?" Luca paused before answering.
"This girl from school, he sighed as she wrote on her notepad.
"A girl?"
"A girl."
"How long have you known this... girl?"
"Like a month or so I don't know," she raised her eyebrows and resumed writing in her notepad.
"Is she new to your school?"
"Yea."
"What is your relationship with her?"
What is our relationship?
"She's my... friend?"
"So you don't know your relationship?"
"Basically."
"If I were to ask her, what would she say?"
"That we're friends."
"Would you be satisfied with that answer?"
No
"Yea," he answered, looking straight into her eyes. Luca knew that she didn't believe him. Whenever he would lie she would just look at him until he told the truth. If he had to give her something, she was a decent lie detector.
"No."
"Why not?"
I don't know
"I don't know."
"Interesting." she continued writing on her notepad
"Did she ask you what happened?" she asked, referring to my face.
"At first."
"Meaning?"
"When she saw my hands, but when we were in the bathroom she only asked why I didn't clean up."
"In the bathroom?" she asked, raising her eyebrow.
"Staff bathroom." she wrote on her notepad.
"Why do you think she cleaned your wounds?"
Where is this going?
"I don't know, maybe because she's a nice person?"
"So you think she would do this for anyone?"
I hope not
"Maybe." she looked at him for a second before answering.
"So you think she thinks you guys are friends?"
"Yea."
"So what if she had a boyfriend?"
A what-
"A what?" Luca asked, raising his eyebrows this time.
"A boyfriend, or a significant other."
Then he would be me
"I don't know." she stared at him. Luca thought it was kind of freaky how she could read him so easily. But it wasn't surprising since he'd been going to her for over 5 years.
