Kai

My stomach was in knots as time quickly went by, getting closer and closer to tomorrow. Kate was laying next to me on the couch, her head on my lap. I was trying to keep my eyes on her to calm myself down, but it wasn't working like it usually does. My cat appeared on my left and purred as she rubbed her head against my arm. Why did I agree to this? This could end in so many different ways, a majority of them being dangerous. I gently lift Kate's head off my lap and lay a blanket over her before walking out the back door.

It was dark outside, the cabin's motion sensor light was lighting up some of the back yard. I let out a sigh and took a seat on the ground in front of the large tree, leaning my back against it. I was fidgeting with the black ring dagger in my hands. I could see the top of Vivian and Jaesuk's house, a couple lights were still on. I felt bad about how Vivian and I ended things the other day, but maybe it's for the best. I don't want Vivian to get involved with all of this shit, at least this would keep her away from me.

I heard the backdoor open and saw a figure walking toward me. Felix. The one person I didn't feel like seeing right now. I scooted over when she motioned to sit down. I was expecting her to break the silence, but she didn't. I looked over and she was watching the stars. She looked down and bit down on her bottom lip. "I'm sorry," She finally says. "I can't keep trying to come between you and my sister. You love her- clearly more than you ever loved me and I need to respect that," Her eyes meet mine and I could see the pain in them. I never would have expected this to happen. The night Felix and I had sex, I thought that I finally had my chance to be with her, but instead, it brought her sister and I closer together.

I stayed silent, wrapping my arm around Felix's shoulders and gently pushing her head onto my shoulder. If this were a couple months ago, I would hold her and never let go. But it's not. I admit that I wished I felt the same about her, but Kate is the only one in my eyes right now, nothing could change that.

I felt my face soften when I saw Kate walking up to us. I expected her to be upset with the sight of Felix resting on my shoulder, but her eyes were bright and she had a smile on her face. I got up from my spot and walked over to her. Felix took the hint and left us alone. "I want you to try to attack me," She says. I furrow my brows, taken aback from her request. "Huh?" She sighs, grabbing my left hand and bringing the dagger into sight. "I want to see if I can defend myself," she shrugs. I let out a scoff and she frowns. "Baby, I'm not going to attack you," I say and her shoulders drop. "Are you worried that you'll lose?" She asks, amusement in her eyes.

I quickly grab her wrist and bring it to her back, along with holding the dagger next to her throat. "I never lose," I whisper in her ear. I was taken off guard when she managed to slip her wrist out of my hand- I wasn't holding it very tightly anyways. She turns around and pushes me, making my back hit the tree. "Are you sure about that?" She asks, closing any distance between us. I grab her shoulders and turn her so that she's now the one against the tree. "Positive," I smile. She was about to get out of her spot, but I grabbed each of her wrists and held them against the tree and over her head.

I licked my lips with a smirk before leaning down and kissing her. Her body loosened up and I let go of her wrists, allowing her hands to roam my body. The motion sensor light turned off since we weren't very close to it, but Kate didn't seem to mind. I let my dagger fall on the ground, near Kate's bare feet. I kicked it a little more to the side in case she stepped on it. My hands find their way up her loose shirt, snaking around her waist. I hear a small noise and stop for a moment. "What?" She asks. I bring my finger to my mouth to tell her to be quiet. I quickly take my hands off of Kate and walk forward a bit.

I could see the shadow of a figure running towards me. I quickly kicked what felt like their leg. They fell to the ground and I quickly got on top of them, my knees holding down their wrists. I reach for my dagger and bring it to their throat. The motion sensor light turns back on and I look over to see Kate waving her hand by it to turn it on. I looked back down, I flinched at the sight of my dead father, blood seeping out of his eyes and mouth, but I shook my head and in his place was Vivian. "What the hell!" She shouts, glaring at me. Kate was now next to us, letting out a sigh. I hesitated before moving the dagger away from her throat and standing up. I reached for her, but she hit my hand away. "I'm sorry," I mumble, noticing a drop of blood falling down her neck.
