''My lord, we have received word of Legolas and Tauriel. They have reached Laketown and have aided the dwarves in their survival'' a guard spoke very sudden. ''Smaug has been slain and Laketown destroyed.'' You snapped out of your daydream and Thranduil stood up. ''Do Legolas and Tauriel still reside in Laketown?'' he asked. ''Yes, my lord.''

You saw Thranduil hesitate for a moment. He looked at you, then back to the guard. ''Send word, I want Legolas back here immediately.'' ''And Tauriel?'' the guard asked. Thranduil sighed deeply and said; ''she is banished. She is not to return to Mirkwood.'' ''As you command, my lord.'' The guard turned around and walked out of the library. You looked up at Thranduil, shocked by the decision he had made. You liked Tauriel, you regarded her as your friend. ''There is not much we can do now but wait, my lady.'' He said while grasping your hand as he laid a kiss on it. You couldn't help but feel slightly uncomfortable. Thranduil noticed. ''My lady, you have to understand, this is our law. She disobeyed my command.'' He said whist caressing your cheek. ''But so did Legolas. It seems unjust.'' You sighed. You tried to vouch for Tauriel's fate, but it was to no avail. Thranduil stood by what he said and urged you to drop the subject. You obeyed.

The next day you felt weird. It was the first time you ever went against Thranduil's comments. Funnily enough, it made you feel kind of powerful. Even though you didn't quite win the argument, you said what you said and that was a bold move. You smirked.

Thranduil summoned you for breakfast in the gardens. After you took a bath, got dressed and fixed your appearance, you made your way to the gardens. Thranduil was looking out over the fields of trees that had beautiful flowers in them; there were pink flowers, purple ones, but also lilac, pale blue and pastel yellow flowers. You were amazed by them. You never notices the sheer beauty of the gardens and felt like you could spend your whole lifetime back here. Thranduil looked beautiful among the trees. He was so majestic, it almost seemed like he was floating in his long robe. He wore a small tiara that reminded you of something from back home, but you couldn't quite lay your finger on it.

''My lady! You look dashing!'' Thranduil smiled and opened his arms as an invitation for a hug. You happily took it and he hugged you tightly. ''It's so beautiful here, I can't believe I never went down here to take a closer look.''

''The gardeners are very skilled and make sure that our trees and plants look at their best the whole year around. I thought you might like them, that's why we're having breakfast here.'' He sat you down at a small round table. You both enjoyed each other's company as you ate. The fruits were so sweet and the bread was still warm. It was great. The view, the music that played in the background by a quartet, and Thranduil. It was perfect.

A few days passed. The guard returned with news. He entered the throne room where you and Thranduil had been the whole day, listening to the wishes of the elves. Some brought their children, a few even babies, and you melted. They were adorable. They hadn't grown into their ears yet; they were simply too big for such a small head. You volunteered to hold them if they were crying when their parents spoke to Thranduil. They happily let you hold them.

The guard bowed and then spoke. ''Legolas was not willing to return. Instead, he and Tauriel rode north to go after a Gundabad Orc pack.'' Thranduil stood up and thought for a few moments. It was dead quiet in the throne room. ''What about the dwarves?''

''They have resided inside the mountain. The people of Laketown are planning to take refuge inside the mountain, but the dwarves don't seem too keen on letting them in.'' the guard said. ''Who leads the people?'' Thranduil asked. ''A man named Bard has been making sure everyone is doing well. He is the one who slayed the dragon.''

You looked at Thranduil to see his reaction. His brows were furrowed and he seemed to think about something. ''Thankyou. I need a moment to decide our part in this. I will let you know when I have made up my mind. Please, leave us.'' Thranduil said whilst walking down from his throne to meet you. The guard bowed deeply and made his way to the main entrance over the many bridges. He took your arm and guided you to his chambers. He didn't say anything on the way and neither did you. It was for the best, you thought.

''My lady, do you recollect the conversation I had with Thorin when they sought refuge in Mirkwood?'' Thranduil said when he sat down. ''Yes, my lord, I do. What of it?'' you said, sitting down opposite of him. ''I told Thorin about the white gems of Lasgalen.'' Thranduil said whilst looking down. ''These gems were fashioned by the Dwarves for my late wife, Legolas' mother.'' He took a deep breath before saying: ''She fell in Gundabad. She unfortunately never got to wear them.'' You didn't know what to say. You thought it was best to not say anything and just listen. ''Later, I came to Erebor to retrieve them but I was denied the gems. It was a ridiculous dispute over payment. The greediness of the dwarves they just-'' He got red and stood up, quite abruptly. He paced around the room. You walked over to him and took his hands inside yours. You kissed them, then him. You caressed his cheek and he seemed to calm down. ''My lady, I want those gems back. The dwarves have resided inside the mountain, sitting on gold. I want to reclaim what is rightfully mine.'' He said. He looked at you. ''The people of Laketown are in great need. Bring supplies with you, win them over. Have the leader, Bard was his name? Have him come with you. You both have interest with the dwarves, and two is always stronger than one.''

''You're right, my lady.'' Thranduil walked out and summoned a guard. ''Assemble the supplies that we can spare. Food, drinks, clothes, blankets, anything to help the people of Laketown. Ready our army to march upon Laketown and the lonely mountain. We leave at dawn.''

That night, you slept alone. Thranduil was busy making sure everything was ready for departure. Lura woke you up. ''Quite a situation, isn't it, my lady?'' She said whilst walking you to another room. ''I know, Lura. We're at the brim of a war, I fear. I hope the King reaches a settlement with the dwarves.'' You said whilst walking inside the room Lura brought you to. You didn't notice what kind of room it was first, but when looking closely, you noticed it was an armoury. You stood in somewhat of a shock, but realized it made sense since you were confronting some angry dwarves. Lura dressed you in a somewhat gold-ish armour, with some very pretty swishes along your curves.

You met with Thranduil at the main gate. You were in awe by the sheer velocity of the elves; his army was massive. All dressed in beautiful golden armour. Wives and children stood at the side, saying goodbye to their loved ones. You couldn't help but feel sorry for them. You waved at one of the children you met in the throne room the other day; he remembered you. Cute.

Thranduil stood by your side and asked if you were ready. ''I am, my lord.'' You said whilst smiling at him. ''Good. Then so am I.'' He said, and then he kissed you. He pulled mounted his Elk and then pulled you up to sit behind him.

''Mín nor-!'' Thranduil spoke very loudly. From what Thranduil had been teaching you, you knew it meant something along the lines of 'we ride'. The elves all marched simultaneously; it was mesmerizing to see. Behind the army of Elves rode the supply cart, behind them were you. And so it began.

Hi there. It has been ages since I updated this story. To be honest, I have not logged onto Wattpad for the longest time and was surprised to see so many people still enjoy  this story. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am touched. I will try and finish this story so it has a proper ending. It might be a bit predictable since I'm basically following the story of the book, but I can imagine it's still enjoyable to read.

I hope you are safe and well, and that all of us can get back to normal hopefully sometime soon. It has been too long. Mask up! Happy reading!
