I hugged my mother right before she left, looking her in the eyes and smiling. I was a broken boy, yes... but not because of her.

I had explained that to her; that everything that happened wasn't her fault. Yes, she could've helped, but what would she have done? We'll never know.

I was safe now. No matter what.

I shut the door as she exited and I turned, leaning against the front door and looking at the top of the stairs. Draco stood there, leaning against the wall.

"You okay, mate?" He asked, looking at me.

I shook my head "Not even a little." I said truthfully, pushing myself off of the door. "And no, I don't want to talk about it. My mind needs a rest from all of that."

He nodded, understandingly, and walked down the stairs. He threw his arm over my shoulder as we walked into the kitchen, the girls and Narcissa sat around the table with cups of tea.

"Can I get you, boys, anything?" Narcissa stood, waiting for us to say something.

I shook my head and grabbed the cookie jar. "We'll just take these" I smirked, walking out quickly with Draco behind me.

"Oh, you little shits!" Narcissa yelled, she and the girls laughing but not following us as we went up to Dracos room.

It was something we always did when he and I wanted to spend time together. We'd steal the cookies and then just sit in his room and talk about whatever it was.

We sat down on his floor, me leaning against the couch he had and Draco leaning against his bed. The cookies sat in the middle, each of us grabbing one as we talked.

I was waiting for him to mention Rose, to say his opinion. I had a feeling he knew but I still didn't want to risk losing our friendship. So, I waited it all out; even if it ended with him literally washing his eyes out.

"So," he spoke, dusting his hands off and looking at me. "Rose..."

I nodded, wiping my hands on my pants "How bad do your eyes hurt?"

"Pretty badly. You should've locked the door." He cocked a brow.

"And you should've knocked." I smiled then both of us broke into laughter.

It was nice to feel normal. Draco made me feel normal. Rose did the same, but I was more nervous with her. I didn't have to be scared of saying the wrong thing around Draco because I knew that nothing could ruin our friendship.

"Do you love her?" He asked, grabbing another cookie.

I chewed on the inside of my cheek, wanting to say yes but not sure how he'd react. So, I grabbed another cookie and tried to avoid the question.

"You can ignore it all you want, but I already know. I know everything." He smiled wickedly, continuing to eat his cookie.

I slouched and looked at him "Does Astoria tell you everything?"

He shook his head "Not her. Not Pansy nor Scarlett. I just know my best friend and my sister."

"How did you find out?"

"It was easy." he shrugged "I knew you had liked her because of the way you acted after the dare." Draco sat back again "But I really put it all together when you got so worked up over her going on the... You know."

I nodded as we both took another cookie. "After that whole thing, you two spent more time together and I figured it out." he continued "I'm fine with it Blaise, really. I just- I know you won't hurt her but if you do... I'll beat you."

We both stopped and looked at each other seriously and a few seconds later, we burst into laughter

I liked this. I liked being able to be my true self even though it meant that I had to force everything to the back of my mind and build up a wall to cover it. I was good at that; good at pushing things away.

We had stopped eating the cookies considering that we had almost eaten them all but I'll bring that up to Rose and maybe me and her could bake some when everyone goes to sleep. Just some me and her time.

Draco and I were just talking now; about him and Astoria, and how school was going for each of us. We couldn't talk about hookups because that wasn't a thing in our lives anymore and I wish that it won't be a part of my life anymore.

A small knock sounded from the door and both of us looked towards it, watching it open just a crack and Rose to peek her head through.

"Can we come in?" She spoke and I nodded. The door opened the rest of the way and Astoria followed Rose. Astoria sat next to Draco while Rose sat next to me.

Her hand interlocked with mine and she looked at me. Draco and Astoria were in conversation, not paying attention to us.

Rose leaned in and pecked my lips making me smile as she pulled away. "I love you. I hope you know that."

I nodded "I know" I tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear. "I love you more."

And then we turned and continued with talking, the girls eating the rest of the cookies.

I glanced around at three of the best people in the room. They were the best things I had and I couldn't have asked for better people. Same for Pansy and Scarlett.
