Chapter 50: Sometimes, Love Just Needs a Little Push

"Nandito ba si Xianne?" Yelena asked as she craned her head inside our classroom

"Yes, Faren is here" at lumingon ako sa likuran para tawagin siya. Ngayon ko lang napansin na napakaingay pala nila sa sulok, but its fine. Today is P.E. Day, so there are hardly any students here inside as most of them are outside to either check the booths or watch the lower years compete. Even Velle is outside with Jasper to make fun of the players

"Faren" I called unto her. No response "Faren" I called again. Still no response. Seems she is wearing a headset as she would never ignore me on purpose. So I put the book I am reading down and walked to where she is to poke her shoulder. Busying busy kasi sila ni Fritz kakalaro ng Diablo 3 sa Nintendo Switch

"Bakit Astrid?" Faren was really polite to remove her headset and put the game console down to look at me bago nito iniabot yun kay Gavin for him to continue "turn na ba natin?"

"No, mamaya pa tayo, hindi pa tapos yung Grade 8. But Yelena is here and she is looking for you" at sinenyasan ko to para pumasok. It's really funny that her eyes swept the whole room to check if Hiro is here bago siya pumasok

"Bakit Indigo? Tawag ako ni coach?" tanong ni Faren

"Hindi. Galing si Kuya Guard sa gym-dojang kanina, iaabot ko lang to. May nagpapabigay daw sayo Xianne" at inabot nito yung hawak niya na Lock&Lock

"Hala! Meron ule?" her expression both worried and surprised "Naku sana good mood si Ve"

Faren has gained a bit of a following after the Taekwondo Tournamet, especially from the other schools. So like her two bestfriends, may mga nagbibigay na din dito ng kung ano ano. Her being the well mannered her, ofcourse she accepts it. Velle's reaction? That is why Faren is a bit worried, cause it depends, but mostly varying degrees of annoyance.

"Wasak na naman yan kay Velle kung hindi maganda timpla non mamaya" Gavin commented as he paused the game "Galing ibang school uli Indigo?"

"Malamang. Mukha lang mabait yang bestfriend ni Xianne no. Tingnan mo nga yung ginawa niya nung tournament. Tapang nung nagbigay kung taga dito siya" Yelena replied

"May mga lalaki pa din naman na nagtatangka na kausapin si Velle. Pero iba kasi reaksyon niya kapag kay Xianne, pag may napasobra ng lapit. Hindi lang death glare, may pagputok pa ng knuckles" Fritz commented as he too paused the game "Hanga nga ako sayo Xianne, mahal na mahal mo talaga yang bestfriend mo na yan. Kahit minsan napakapossessive na at para na ding si Satan incarnate. Hindi mo iniiwan"

"Oo" Faren softly replied "kahit naman ganon yun si Ve, mahal ko yun. Ganon naman na talaga siya kasi, mga bata palang kami. Buti nga nagiimprove na" then she smiled as she stared at the Lock&Lock in her hands. There is a certain pained tenderness in her voice that I certainly did not miss.

However, she may have also noticed what she had done as she instantly changed her demeanor

"Sumbong kita Fritz mamaya kapag nakita ko siya. Tinawag mo siyang Satan incarnate" mapanukso na nitong pagbabanta habang panandalian niyang idinaan yung mga mata niya sa akin

I inwardly chuckle. I know your secret Faren. No need to steal a glance. Honestly, her abrupt changes in tone never fails to amuse me whenever Velle is the topic. She is also very very conscious kapag kasama nila ako or alam niyang nasa paligid lang ako. It is as if it's paramount to her that I do not figure it out. It's very obvious that she does not want me to know that she knows. I guess this is why I have never confronted her about it, unlike nung nafigure out ko back then that Gavin is in love with her. I am not really offended, hindi lang siguro niya matanggap pa na I was right

"Huy huwag naman! Pero si Cassandra counted ba na matapang?" pag divert ni Fritz sa ibang topic "Parang buwan buwan may pa cup cake yun kay Xianne ah"
