What is he talking about?

I got to my senses and moved past him leaving the room. It felt like I could finally breathe properly.

God, my face is burning! Do I...LIKE HIM?!

No way! Ya Allah! Adalina!! Get a hold of yourself! You can't do this!

He bullied me first. His friends laughed at me. Zahara almost wanted me dead and here I am thinking I could like him? Or that he could like me?!

He scared me, made me uncomfortable, ordered me around and made my life a living hell.

How could I ever like him?

The next day, I got into the bus on my way to school when I met Fazal.

"Hey!" I joined him.

"No way! Have we always been taking the same bus without even knowing?!" he exclaimed.

"I'm not sure but it's nice to see you here," I replied.

We chatted the whole bus ride until we reached school.

"Oh my god, have you seen the video Ayla sent in the group chat —it's hilarious!" I showed him the video as I burst out laughing. He took a look at it and began laughing too.

"I'm sure this is living in your head rent-free free huh?" he asked chuckling.

"How'd you know?!" I asked.

We made it inside the school and were about to separate our ways when Aslan showed up.

He was looking strangely at Fazal. He got close to him whispering something in his ear. Fazal nodded and then left.

"Wait Fazal—"

"No need to call for him when I'm already here" Aslan said.

"Are you seriously going to do that every time I'm with him? It's getting very annoying" I said pissed. I was going to take my leave but he stopped me.

"I thought I was clear about not being around him" Of course, how can I forget?

"I don't care, Aslan, who are you to tell me what to do?" It came harsher than I wanted it to.

I could see his jaw tighten as he stared into my soul.

"I'll show you really soon who I am to you" he said before walking away. What does he mean? I'm so confused.

I went to my locker trying to forget what he just said. Then, I made it to my first class of the day. I'm not with Ayla for this class but for the next one, I'll see her thankfully. I took my seat and just like the other students, we were waiting for the teacher to show up.

Suddenly, the lights went off.

A big collective scream was heard before it turned into laughs and giggles. It was pitch black. Everyone took out their phone's light. Damn it, I forgot mine in my backpack which is in my locker. I was a bit worried.
