Halfway through lunch my phone rang it was Derek. I asked to be excused. I got up and went through the porch door and out into the yard.
M: hey man what's up
D: dude Jean is freaking out
M: are you kidding me. Why!?
D: Brian threatened her
M: oh I will hurt that dirt bag
D: relax dude I've got her safe but she's stressed
M: tell her it's not healthy for her to be stressed and I will be in San Diego in 4 days.
D: okay will do and can she talk to you
M: yea of course
J: hey Mark I'm scared
M: don't be Derek will protect you I promise
J: but Mark
M: love it's not healthy for you to be stressed I'll be in Cali in 4 days hang in there
J: thank you Mark love you you're the best
M: much love for you too darling and please take care for me and Derek.
J: bye Mark
M: bye
D: she's smiling again
M: that's good please take care of her for me this is so hard for her. call Julianne if needed
D: will do enjoy yourself bro
M: thanks man bye
I hung up the phone and went back to the porch. Everyone looked at me. Dylan spoke up "hey man who was on the phone?" Then Emma added "you might want to shut the door next time now explain." I mentally cussed I had left the porch door open. Witney's entire family heard that whole conversation. I smiled "it was just Derek." Lindsay looked at me "who was so stressed? Cause it wasn't Derek." I nodded "you're right he's with Bethany a guy threatened her on the street today." Everyone nodded. Witney stands up "Mark could we talk please."
