My day was normal get up at 6:30 go to school, regular thursday classes. Go to the Apex where I told my mom I was meeting some friends to swim but I went to the gym there and did the workouts that Kile, my team leader and good friend, had gave me to do on our day offs from work. I was done with the workout sore and tired but I went over and hopped into the pool so I didn't completely lie to my mom. I got out dried off and she picked me up. When I got home I did my homework played games on the computer and went to bed around 10 like normal. Next day went almost the same as every other until my friend Scott, came up to me at lunch and brought me to the tuba room in the band hall, a closet where only a few people went into each day.
"Whats up?" I ask
"Your team going to the games on saturday?" He asked. The games were where the government gave anyone 18 or over a robot suit that was animal based and fought others with suits to see who came out on top and a good person to hire, Scott and I had snuck into them and found ourselves in a world that we shouldn't have even found.
"Ya yours?"
"Yep. Although I want to know what you and Kile are doing at the big house."
"The big house? Where's that."
"Where their training us?"
"Oh ok ya so far we have just done training stuff. Workouts, accuracy shooting stuff, and thats been it so far though. I am going to the Apex after school most days to workout you can come if you want. When do you and John go?"
"Most days, you? You know what screw it I'll work around your apex schedule if I can."
"I go to the big house Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and some Saturdays and Sundays unless Kile or I can't go that day. Kile and I haven't set up a set schedule yet. I have campaigners right after school on friday and free after that."
"So Mondays and after campaigners on friday?"
"Yep but I have to be at Younglife on monday nights. By the way, you should come to that."
"Ya I guess i'll try. So you're going to campaigners tonight and when is that done?"
"Usually 5ish."
"Ok want to meet at the apex 5:30ish?"
"Ya, and I have a punch card thing that gets us in for free so wait for me if I'm a little late. Also I told my mom that I am going there to swim with friends so we need to at least get in the water after we're done with the work out. Or we could swim some laps. Or..." I rambled on and he cut me off
"We'll figure that out when we get to it."
"Ok I'll see you then" I said, the bell rang and we went to our separate classes.
After school when I was done with campaigners, I got a ride over to the Apex at 5:15 and waited not even five minutes for Scott.
About halfway through the workout I asked Scott about how his training was going.
"Good I think although it will be a few weeks before we get out into the field and start recons and patrols and all the good stuff. You?"
"Same. I've only meet with Kile once there so you know, can't really do much with one meeting."
"I have meet with John twice so it's still about the same."
When we finished the workout we went and swam a few laps in the pool and got out showered and waited in the lobby for our parents.
"So what are these games going to be?" He asked me
"Is there different kinds than ones in the tunnels?"
"Apparently. John said that these were sky games."
"That sounds really fun actually."
"I don't think so."
"Anyways my moms here so I guess we'll see eachother at the games."
"Ya we'll text at break if we get one." He said
"Good with me. See ya." I say as I leave him waiting for his mom to show up.
After a few minutes of getting home I saw a message from Chris that read "U free soon. Need to get suit ready 4 sat. I can take u now."
"Hey mom a guy from my job is out sick today and they want me to fill in can I go? I can get a ride there."
"Fine don't be too late plus you need to be at that guys house tomorrow right?" she said and I texted Chris right away "If u can come im free now"
"Ya." I said back to my mom
"Correct." I got a message from Chris "omw be there in 5ish. U want to stay the nite?"
"Ok. Also the guy who's picking me up is going tomorrow so he wants to know if I can stay the night at his place. That cool?"
"Two nights wow that's a long time to be away from me will you be ok?" She said sarcastically.
"It's ok I can handle that. I might just need to do that more often." I joked
"Ya go pack up." She told me. I texted Chris back "I can stay nite." When I got done packing. I unpluged my suit which had been charging and put it on and walked out the door, sat on the porch swing and waited for Chris. He drove up and I saw that Nerf was in the front seat so I jumped in the back.
"Hey big D how's it going?" Nerf asked
"Ya don't call me that, other than that I've got nothing to complain about so ya how about you guys?"
"Same." Chris said
"You guys are boring," Nerf said, "My day was really good. I passed my english test, and found this really addicting song that will not leave my head."
"Just don't acknowledge it and maybe it won't happen." Chris said to me
"Let's just get this over with. I'm stopping for Taco Bell when we're done here though." Chris says.
