I let out a long sigh as I just stared at my computer screen. I just wanna see Amelia and the kids. A quiet groan left my mouth as I rubbed my head tiredly.

"Knock, knock." Miranda's preppy voice echoed in my doorway.

I looked up at her and forced a fake smile to spread across my face. "Hello, Miranda."

She smiled as she set a stack of papers on my desk.

"These are for you."

A small sigh left my mouth. "Wonderful."

A pout trailed onto her lips. "You look stressed."

"No, I-I'm fine." I muttered. "Sorry."

She walked behind me and placed her hands on my shoulders while rubbing them lightly.

"Don't be sorry." She whispered in my ear.

I nervously wiggled away from her. "I really should be getting back to work."

I tried to show her that I wasn't interested in her, but she didn't seem to get the memo.

"I can take some stress off of your shoulders." A smirk plastered her face.

"Miranda-" I tried to say, but her finger quickly pressed onto my lips.

"Shhhhh," She shushed. "I promise it'll help."

I swallowed nervously as I looked at the picture on my desk. It was a picture of Amelia, me, Jayden, and Alison. I can't let them go.

"Um..." I whispered while turning my head away from her. "I need to call my wife back."

Her shoulders shrugged. "She can wait."

Her finger swirled around my tie as she faced my head back towards hers.

"Please." I whispered. "I can't hurt my family like this."

She moved her face so it was inches away from mine. "They don't have to know."

I shifted around uncomfortably. "Please let me get back to work."

She wasn't gonna give up. She looked at my desk, smacked the picture down, and shifted onto me more.

"They don't have to know." She repeated in a whisper.

A small whimper left my mouth. "Miranda, no. Get out."

She looked mad. "I'm just trying to take some of your stress away."

Her hands slowly ran up my legs and I finally shoved her off.

"Hey!" She grunted.

"Please get out," I begged.

She scoffed while her feet pounded out of my office. I sighed and rubbed my face. Geez, she never gives up.

My heart pounded as I quickly ran to the bathroom. Puke shot into the toilet as I groaned in disgust. I quickly flushed it just in time before Alison came running in.

"Mommy!" Alison gasped.

"I'm okay, baby," I reassured.

She pouted. "What happened?"

"Mommy's just a little bit sick." I sighed. "I'm okay though."

Jayden then came running in and immediately wrapped his arms around me.

"Are you dying?!" He panicked.

My head shook. "No, buddy, I'm not dying."

A sigh of relief left his mouth. "Thank goodness."

"You should rest," Alison added.

"No, I'll be okay," I reassured.

"Please?" Jayden begged.

I lightly stroked his hair. "I gotta take care of you guys."

"We'll be okay!" Alison reassured.

"Yeah!" Jayden added while nodding.

I sighed. "No, I'm still gonna take care of you guys."

They pouted but didn't protest with me.

The front door opened and the kids immediately ran over to Luis.

"Daddy!" They both squealed.

"Hi!" He smiled happily.

I tiredly held my head in my hands and wanted to pass out. I listened to their light chatter as they walked over to me.

"Woah," Luis gasped while walking over to me. "Did you go for a run or something?"

I hummed. "No..."

"You're super red."

"She's sick!" Jayden blurted out.

His eyes turned into worry. "What?"

"No, I'm fine." I waved a hand at him while walking over to the sink.

"She threw up earlier!" Alison added.

"Yeah, and she's refusing to rest!" Jayden added as well.

I groaned lightly. "I'm fine."

Luis's hands squeezed my arms lightly. "Go rest, okay?"

"I gotta take care of the kids." I sighed.

"I got 'em." He reassured. "Go get some rest."

"But-" I tried to whine, but he stopped me.

"No, no, no, come on."

I sighed as he dragged me upstairs. I crawled into bed and he crawled behind me. His hands lightly brushed through my hair as I closed my eyes.

"Just keep doing that," I whispered.

He chuckled lightly while continuing. He kissed my cheek lightly before I practically passed out.
