"Sometimes, it only takes one person to change your life. One to be there for you, to push you, to believe in you. It only takes one." -unknown

I dropped my lunch tray on the table right next to Selena's and sat down.

"TAYLORRR, what did you get on your history project?" she asked excitingly.

"A 98," I replied, biting in to my ham sandwich.

"Damn you, Taylor! I got a 95 and just when I thought no one could've gotten a better score than me, you tell me you got a 98!" Selena joked with a a fake angered expression. "Why is everything that you do, you're perfect at it?" she says it as a statement.

"That is not true," I countered.

"Remember that time in PE when we were supposed to practice that dance routine?" Selena reminded me.

I don't find dancing that appealing but I'm not that horrible myself.

Selena continued, "You mastered all of the moves in just one try while I struggled with it...and I've been dancing ever since I was 3!"

I was about to counter her when a group of 5 gorgeous boys, have to admit, entered the room. They were all in a band called One Direction I believe? One of the members, Harry, was in my 6th period English class. Selena couldn't stop staring at Harry and she was practically drooling. He caught her gazing at him and smiled at her. She died. Right there.

"Uhm, Sel?" she didn't budge. "Selena?" I nudged her.

"Wha-what?" she asked with a dreamy expression on her face.

I giggle. "If you like him so much then ask him out, I suggested.

"I don't know...what if he rejects me? Then I'd never be able to face him again or be able to go to this school with that same image playing back over and over again in my head. What if he doesn't like me? I'm just so ordinary. I only dance, bake, and I'm somewhat nerdy," Selena said all in one breath.

"Woah calm down there. There's nothing to not like about you, Sel. You are the most sweetest, funny, and caring person I know." I assured her.

"Thanks Taylor. That was very nice of you to say."

"Hey! We have that Spring dance in 2 weeks, maybe you can try to ask him out?"

"I'll try my best. Wish me luck," Selena said

To both of our surprise, the band sat down at our table.

"Mind if we sit here?" Harry asked with a charming smile. The sound that came out of Selena was not human at all. "Excuse me?" he asked, unclear.

"Uh-uh yea. Sure," Selena tried to muster a confidence smile on her face. I had to bite my lip from bursting out laughing.

The whole time was rather awkward for me as I sit there watching Selena trying to make conversation with Harry. But, he kept glancing over at me, his gaze burning the side of my face as I look down and try to avoid eye contact. Finally, the bell rang indicating that it was the end of lunch period.

The rest of the day wasn't that interesting and was uneventful. At the end of the day around 4:00 when most people were gone, I took my guitar out of my locker and sat down underneath a tree in front of the school. The tree provided a cool shade where I could relax and pour out all of my emotions into a notebook and a guitar. "She better hold him tight, give him all her love. Look into those beautiful eyes, and know she's lucky cause... " I sang. I jotted these lyrics down in my notebook which proved that I don't have everything in my life that I wanted. Suddenly, I heard footsteps approaching and a person appeared beside me. He was walking in worn out jeans with his hands in his pockets, a small grin on his face. It was Harry. I immediately became nervous. I thought no one was here. What was he doing here? How long has he been there?

"I didn't know you can sing or play guitar," he said.

"Oh aha, I do," I laughed nervously.

"But your voice was beautiful," he complimented, probably seeing my worried expression.

"Thank you," I said shyly and blushed.

"So what are you doing here?" he questioned.

"Well, I just really like the peace and quiet here. I can write songs and you know, all the things you've probably already seen me do," I answered.

"I kind of have a place where I'd also like to have peace. Maybe I can show you some time," Harry told me. Up until now, I didn't realize how beautiful his green eyes were. They were a wondrous shade of forest green. His curly brown hair was slightly disheveled but in a cute way.

"Will you play a song for me?" he requested, interrupting my thoughts.

I hesitated, not knowing whether or not I should play for him. Then, I decided that maybe I could do a song I wrote not too long ago called Breathe. It was for my one of my best friends, Abigail, who moved away.

I took a deep breath and announced, "This song I wrote is called Breathe and it's for my best friend." I started by strumming the chords and humming.

Throughout the song, I kept looking at his face trying to read his emotions and he seemed to be enjoying the song. When I strummed the last chord, he applauded for me.

"That was amazing!" he exclaimed.

"Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it," I said. I check the time: 4:35

"I better get going or else my mom will start wondering what's taking me," I said while packing up my stuff.

"I can walk home with you. I don't live far from here," Harry volunteered.

"Sure!" I beamed. I thought I could use some company.

During the walk to my house, we continued talking and learned several things about each other.

"Can I ask you a really random question?" I waited for his response.

"Yea, sure," he shrugged.

"What's your zodiac sign?" Here's the thing, I was obsessed with astrology and horoscopes and stars. You can learn so much about a peson just by their zodiac sign and if you two are compatible and as much as I am not willing to admit it, I was just curious about me and him.

"Aquarius I think," with his face scrunched up like he was trying to recall some memory. "Why?"

"Oh-it's for um a project," I lied. Well, not exactly.

"Interesting. What's your's?" he asked.

"Sagittarius!" I chirped while skipping up the steps to my front door. "Thanks for coming along with me." We were standing so close next to each other, my hand brushed his, feeling an electric shock as I reached for the door handle. I pretended nothing had happened and bidded him a goodbye before shutting the door. It was a good thing neither of my parents were home because they would've drowned me with a bunch of questions like

"Who was that boy?"

"Why were you with him?"

Honestly, can't a girl be seen with a boy without being called boyfriends and girlfriends? But I had to admit, I felt this sudden rush of feelings after hanging out with Harry. Something I'd never felt before. My heart beated faster and I blushed more around him. No, I couldn't possibly like him. I couldn't do this to Selena! She was my best friend and I knew how hard she was crushing on Harry. No, Taylor, you are not falling for him.

A/N: Selena is literally me, though, whenever I'm around my crush. I'm sorry if it's so boring now. I promise it'll get more interesting. Please vote and comment! All the love xx
