Hey, hey, hey
Can I talk to you?
Monster to monster?
I know our game
Is to pretend
We're not who we are
But let's be honest
For once in our lives
Whilst we're alone
No one's here
But me and you
A monster and a monster
How good does it feel
To rip their heart like a banana peel?
How hard do you struggle
Not to laugh whilst doing that?
Do you fight with yourself?
The goody-two-shoes and the truth
Do you fight with Fate?
Who thinks all you are is darkness
I do
How hard is it
To pretend that you're someone else?
To trap them in your so-called "love"
And use it as bait for them to do your bidding?
How often do you
Practise your mask in the mirror?
How do you feel when you
Use that smile of yours and say that "hi" of yours?
They like me gentle
They like me wide-eyed
They like me using a voice that has no control over itself
They like me stuttering
They like me pouting
They don't even realise it but I do
I give them the mask they wants
And they give me their love and with it
Their service for me
Is it the same for you?
I want us to talk
Monster to monster
But I know that's impossible
We need to preserve our mask
Besides
I don't trust you
And I know you
Don't trust me too
I wish we could though
Wouldn't it be great
To learn each other's tricks?
To improve our masks
To the point of unflinchable?
Your mask may fool them
But they do not fool me
And it works the other way around
Isn't that funny?
We see each other
We understand one another
Yet never once
Have we spoken
Not as our masks
But as the monsters we truly are
