Abandonment is such a concept.

For she holds me in her clutches from dusk to dawn,

She creeps behind me even when I feel secure.

She leaves me unfit to go on.

Why must she grab me so?

Smiling faces surround my view

As I crack and crumble and break.

People look at me as if they never had a clue.

When I'm gone, they won't notice.

The only difference that they'll feel

Is the lack of screams

That once made my head reel.
