"Would anyone like coffee?" I asked rubbing my eyes. Sonya glared at me, but Karolina smacked the back of her head, whispering something harshly to her in Russian.
"Yes please, Roza. That would be lovely."
I nodded and turned into the small kitchen, puttering around while I used the moment to collect my thoughts. I looked down and realized the state of my attire. Well, there was no point in changing at the moment. I made sure the zipper up high enough to cover my chest and took the cups into the living room.
Olena was sitting in the chair, looking fondly at the afghan that I knew she would recognize as one that she made that was folded on the back of the couch. Karo, Sonya and Vika were on my small couch and I looked to find Yeva, but it was clear that she was not here. Oh well, more coffee for me.
I set the cups down, but Sonya didn't touch hers. I sank down onto the floor next to Olena and she patted my head.
"What happened to your neck dear?" I stiffened and swallowed, shifting my eyes from each sister to the next before shaking my head.
"It's not something I want to discuss right now."
"Then what will you discuss," Sonya snapped. Her sisters looked at her with narrowed eyes.
"Dimitri was Strigoi. That I didn't lie to you about. But I and a few others found something in a lore book that seemed promising. I wanted to believe that it was true, but it seemed too much like a fairytale. A few nights ago I was out with the Princess and he found us. He... well, let's just say he put up a lot of fight," I said, gesturing to my neck. Olena gasped stroking my hair while the three sisters looked stricken.
"Anyways. The lore stated that if a Strigoi was staked by a Spirit user with a stake charmed with Spirit, it may restore them to their previous state. It seemed so crazy to believe that it was true, but when Lissa staked him. I've never seen anything like it. One minute he was a cold monster wearing his face, the next he was weeping in Lissa's arms."
"But he's ok now," Sonya said impatiently, "He's Dhampir again."
"Yes," I replied not too kindly, not impressed with her attitude. I remember Dimitri telling me once that out of all of them, Sonya's temper was the worst. "Now, if you're done being an uppity bitch, I would appreciate being able to get dressed."
Sonya looked pissed off, but Karo raised a brow and tried to hide her smirk. Vika didn't try as hard and snickered. I got up and headed to my bedroom, changing quickly into jeans and a sweater before going back out, only to find Lissa there too. She seemed to be getting along well with the Belikova's and I could hear her giving them a rundown of how Dimitri was doing. When she saw me come out, she pranced over and gave me the biggest hug she could muster before kissing my cheek.
"What was that for?" I laughed.
"Dimitri asked me to give you a hug and a kiss. I didn't think you'd be up for a kiss on the lips though," she laughed. I snicked and pulled out of the hug, giving her a small smile. "I didn't see that part."
Lissa nodded and looked out to the other women in the room. "I have good news though. They will be letting Dimitri out tomorrow in the middle of the night. Nobody is to approach him directly when he is released, but hopefully, if he feels up to it you can visit with him in a day or so."
"Up to visit with us? Of course, he wants to see us!" Sonya exclaimed, jumping up from her stop to protest, but Karo was quick and jerked her back down. Apparently, Sonya had forgotten her manners. I may be informal with Lissa, but that was because we were close friends. Sonya has known Lissa for all of a minute.
