A vin'rou had once saved a young keruku from starvation.
Well, not like the keruku was little anymore.
And Blue-Eyes had developed a crush on her over the years.
The way she majestically spread her wings, the way her laugh would seem to make the sun rise a little further-just a little.
It was beautiful. Absolutely magnificent.
Amazingly, she had learnt to fly all by herself.
Blue-Eyes didn't actually feel needed anymore.
He sighed as he looked up at the sky.
He realized that the same keruku, Cloudburst, was sitting next to him.
"Oh..hi, Cloudburst.." he mumbled
"Hi! What's wrong?" she said, noticing his face.
"Nothing," he mumbled
"Seriously, what's wrong?" Cloudburst said
"Nothing." he responded again
"Ok.." she said quietly before flying away
"Wait-" he started, but she was gone.
How on earth would he tell her?
If he was too cowardly to even talk to her how could he tell her something so nerve-wracking?
He didn't know.
He soared to catch up to her.
"Wait!" he yelped as she turned around
"Yes?"
"Err.. I have something to tell you.."
Cloudburst tilted her head.
"Uh-uh-the food supply is out!" he blurted
She seemed a bit disappointed
"Ok. Guess it's time to hunt then.
The vin'rou nd keruku circled a baby kendyll
Cloudburst dived and quickly swerved into the air and shot some lightning
After a few minutes the baby kendyll was dead.
She carried the carcass back up the mountain
"How-" Blue-eyes started as she explained "Kerkus have lightning breath."
"So your Zeus basically."
"Am not"
"Are too"
They bought the baby kendyll back
Blue-Eyes sighed and looked up at Cloudburst
"Errr..I have something to tell you.."
"Yes?" she said
It's-"
"That the water supply is out?" she interrupted
"Err..no." he said.
"That the cave collapsed?"
"No." he responded, and on went a guessing game
"It's just that..your my gem." he said, trying to say it in a way that he wouldn't feel embarassed.
"I know you probably-"
"Calm down! I like you too, Blue-eyes." she said
"Oh-really?"
"Yes, really, you idiot." she said
And they sat watching the stars.
"It was you." Blue-eyes said before he fell asleep.
