Bertholdt: patrol the city?
Annie: yep, patrol, that's what military police do and we're assigned, apparently there's some commotion about muggers around here and we are to check it out
Bertholdt: w-we? Like me and you
Annie: I could go with hitch if you don't want-
Bertholdt: No!..n-no it's fine I'm just making sure
Annie: let's go and get this done
*Bertholdt and annie walk silently to their destination until annie casually starts conversation*
Annie: so bertl what will you do when we get back?
Bertholdt: a- I'm sorry...bertl? (Cute)
Annie: oh, what will you do bertholdt?
Bertholdt: hmm...well, ann first I'll visit my dad...ha I don't think he'll recognize me considering how tall I've gotten
Annie: no..I don't like that
Bertholdt: I did the same as you
Annie: I just wanted to know if it fits well with you
Bertholdt: ok..does it?
Annie: maybe, I'll have to use it more, how does ann sound to you?
Bertholdt: ....I thought you didn't like it?
Annie: I don't. But do you?
Bertholdt: hm I'll have to use it more
Annie: huh, don't over use it
Bertholdt: a-annie what?-
Annie: I'm giving you permission, just don't take advantage of my kindness
Bertholdt: y-yes..and you can call me bertl, as much as you like
Annie: we're here, stay sharp
*As they approach behind a seemingly abandoned house annie notices the door slightly cracked open*
Bertholdt: you think people are here?
Annie: these people are idiots, they left the door cracked, go see if there's a back door, stay focused
Bertholdt: right
*Bertholdt nods and makes his way to a dark shade of an ally way that seems to lead to the back*
Bertholdt: (ok you can do this, just keep a sharp head bertl...haha bertl, what does that mean when annie calls me that? If I think back this is the first time she's ever used a nickname for me)
*Thinking to himself bertholdt is caught off guard when a mugger jumps from the roof onto his back catching him in a choke hold*
Bertholdt: ( dammit I was careless)
Mugger1: you think you can come here and just get the drop on us? By the look of your surprised face I figure you thought this was gonna be cake right?
Bertholdt: ... ( I can't let him choke me out and be able to surprise annie, I can't kill him, I'll just put him to sleep, I'll have to be careful not to crack his neck)
*Bertholdt quickly calms himself and hits the mugger in the nose with the back of his head giving the mugger a nose bleed, then turning to grab him to slam his head against the side of the house*
Bertholdt: annie!
*Bertholdt hurries back to where annie is, relieved to see her standing in the entrance doorway, then a gunshot, he looks startled to see annie's stunned face as she suddenly drops like an unhinged door, his eyes widen at the shock and disbelief*
Bertholdt: annie? What?
*Nothing, theirs nothing in his mind, his hand raises instantly to his mouth without command as he is about to bite down with a blank mind, his eyes never leaving her small form he sees her twitch, the only thing that made him stop and think*
Bertholdt: a.....wait....what am I doing?, I'd kill her too
*He hears the footsteps of another person walking slowly to the door*
Bertholdt: (the other one, I'll break his whole body)
*Bertholdt leans against the house near the door waiting until the mugger got close enough to strike, as soon as the mugger was in the doorway bertholdt ran and slammed his body against the open door crashing the mugger down breaking his nose*
Mugger2: shit what was that? My nose!
*Bertholdt forgot where he was at, military police left his head as soon as annie was shot, he grabbed the muggers leg and proceeds to twist it until it snapped*
Bertholdt: you deserve this
Mugger2: what? Ahhhh!!
Bertholdt: it's not a bullet, but it is pain...you deserve it
*Just as bertholdt grabbed his other leg, he heard annie*
Annie: bertholdt arrest him
*Bertholdt feels his heart flutter for just a moment, he looks back eyes growing wider*
Bertholdt: a-annie you're ok?
Annie: did you forget I'm a titan?
*Bertholdt suddenly feels embarrassed and stupid and overwhelmingly relieved*
Bertholdt: th- that's right, I'm...sorry....I wasn't thinking
Annie: clearly, it's a good thing you didn't transform
Bertholdt: y-yea. ( everything stopped, I was about to.....cause destruction)
Annie: good you broke his leg, he can't escape
Mugger2: Fuck!
Annie: go get the other one, I'll carry him
Bertholdt: yea....ann, I'm glad your ok
Annie: hm, yea....good job bertl
