a simple encounter

are you here for the cable?

"Whew! Something definitely died in here," Banner states as he ducks through the doorway

"Hello? Thor?" I shout, trying to catch his attention

The sound of clinking bottles could be heard from the living room.

"Are you here about the cable?" Thor shouts from somewhere in the house

He walks by so quickly that I could barely see him.

"The Cinemax went out two weeks ago... and the sports are all kinda fuzzy and whatnot," he continues to ramble on

Banner, Rocket and I enter the living room to see three people, Thor had his back facing us but I could tell that he was different.

"Thor?" I ask shyly

Thor slowly turns around and his eyes meet ours, at first, he wore a confused look but his expression soon softened.

"Boys! and Lady! Oh, my God!" he shouts as he opens his arms, walking towards us for an embrace

He starts off with Banner and gives him a tight hug, Banner welcomes him with a smile. It was nice to see him after all this time. Thor then moves on to Rocket and crouches down to give him a hug, Rocket wasn't as welcoming to Thor's hug but Thor ignores him completely. Once Thor stands back up he looks at me and smiles with the biggest smile I have ever seen on his face. I open my arms, welcoming him into my embrace. I could tell he really needed a hug. He approaches me slowly and lays his head on my shoulder as I hug him tightly in an attempt to make him feel as safe and loved as possible. I didn't hear from him much during the five years that we hadn't seen each other but I also wasn't too sure how to contact him. Seeing him here today brought me a warm feeling, a sense of home. I missed him more than I thought. As we ended our embrace he smiled once again, wiping any tears that had fallen down his tanned face.

"It's so good to see you all," Thor smiled

"It's good to see you too buddy," Rocket replies

"These are my friends, Miek and Korg," Thor smiles as he turns to point to the two characters on the couch, playing a video game together

"Hello!" the tall built one states, he seems to be made of rocks which normally I would be confused by but apparently, anything is possible now

Thor opens the beer in his hand and begins to chug the bottle. Banner approaches Thor slowly and places a hand on his shoulder, making sure Thor was paying attention to him.

"Buddy, Are you okay?" Banner asks softly

"Yes, I'm fine, why? Don't I look alright?" Thor replies in confusion

"You look like melted ice cream," Rocket mumbles

"Rocket!" I say looking at him in anger

Thor just chuckles and ignores the remark and takes another sip of his beer.

"So, are you guys just here to hang out, or what?" Thor asks

"Thor, we need your help," I reply

"There might be a chance we could fix everything," Banner continues

"What, like the cable? Cause' that's been driving me bananas for weeks," Thor asks cluelessly

"Like Thanos," Banner states

Thor was caught off guard by the statement, he looks down at the ground and let out a heavy sigh. He looked almost as if he was flashing through each and every memory of Thanos and the damage he caused, the lives he took. Thor brings his hand up to Banner's shoulder and grips onto his shirt tightly.
