"Seulgi?" Dad asks when she doesn't answer.

"Wouldn't want to intrude on family time," Seulgi says, removing her arm from Irene.

"You're sure?" Mino asks.

"Yeah, I'll see you all later," Seulgi says, before giving us all a goodbye and walking back to the team.

"I'll meet you at the car, I'm just going to tell the guys we aren't going for pizza," Mino says before jogging off towards the team. The rest of us all follow dad back to his car.

Berry's ice cream shop was packed by the time we get there, getting the last table.

"So when do you get told if you are officially the captain?" Yeri asks Mino once we were all seated. Mino raises his shoulder in a shrug.

"No idea. I'm surprised Jisoo recommended me to be honest." I nearly choke on my ice cream at his words. We all turn to him, with shocked looks.

"What?"

"Jisoo recommended you?" Irene clarifies, sounding unbelieving.

"Yeah, the other night, when we all went to get pizza, Seungyoon told me that he had overheard coach talking to one of the teachers. They were talking about who to make as captain and coach said that Jisoo had recommended me." Mino says, sounding as unbelieving as I'm sure the rest of us felt.

"When?" I ask, trying to sound as normal as possible.

"Seungyoon said about a week and a half before."

I freeze, realising that Jisoo and I were together at that point. She wouldn't have just recommended Mino because of me, would she? I think back to the day she texted me from her window telling me about it. She had known before anyone else, I realise.

I feel Irene glance towards me before she turns her attention back to her ice cream. No one says anything for a while, everyone simply eating their ice creams.

By the time I get home later that day, I am still in shock about what Mino had said. Mino left shortly after we got home to go out with Sohee as did Irene with Seulgi. I am sitting in the living room with Yeri, watching some old reruns.

"Do you have plans with her?" Yeri asks.

"Yeah, tonight. Don't know what we are doing though." I say, not getting a reply from Yeri. I sit for another half an hour before going and getting myself a drink.

Just as I am pouring myself a glass of water I hear someone walk into the kitchen making me turn around to see dad walk in, back in his suit. He grabs a bottle from the fridge and sits at the table, indicating for me to sit beside him. I watch him cautiously as I sit, knowing that he had something he wanted to ask.

"You didn't know Jisoo recommended him." He states, watching me. I raise my eyebrows surprised by what he said.

"No. How would I know that?" I ask, trying to keep my voice even.

"Because of all the time you two have spent together recently." He says, not moving his eyes from mine. I feel panic erupt inside of me. He knows! How could he know?

"What?" I ask dumbly, not knowing what to say.

"I'm not an idiot, Jennie." He says, making it clear there is no point in lying to him. I break the eye contact, looking down at the table.

"I don't understand. How?" I ask, trying to tread lightly.

"Well firstly, you've been sneaking about and you normally aren't the sneaking type. I saw you go out the front door before going into the garden. You where clearly going over to the Kim's. Then when she walked in here the other day, you looked like a deer caught in headlights and she was trying so hard not to look at you. It was obvious. Plus the fact that today I noticed you weren't watching Mino on the field, you were watching her."

I stare at him for a minute re-playing what he was saying in my head. He knew. He saw me. He noticed me watching Jisoo today.

"When did it start?" Dad asks after I don't say anything. I look up at him, realising he doesn't look angry, just curious.

"The masquerade dance," I answer, softly, still not knowing what to say. He doesn't look angry, yet he must be. I mean Jisoo is a Kim.

Dad scratches his head, letting out a small sigh. I watch as he nods slightly.

"I'm sorry." I say, feeling guilt fly over me.

"Jennie, you don't need to be sorry. I don't get along with her dad. I never told you that you don't have to like Jisoo, or her dad for that matter, you decided to do that on your own. Now yes I would prefer if it was someone else, but you can't decide these things. I get why you didn't tell me, you likely thought I was going to shout and disown you." He says, looking at me.

"I felt so guilty. I stopped it when you came home saying Mr kim stole that client a few weeks ago. I did. I felt so guilty and you were so heartbroken about him doing that to you again. I didn't want to hurt you any further so I stopped it between Jisoo and I. But, I was miserable. I didn't want to hurt you, but I also wanted to be with her."

"Jennie, don't feel guilty. I'm not angry or annoyed. I just wanted to tell you that. Do you like her, I mean like her like her?" He asks, looking slightly awkward.

"Yeah, I do." I mumble, feeling embarrassed.

"Then she is welcome here anytime. Just please, be careful around her dad... I still don't trust him." He tells me. I smile at him, letting him know that I understand.

"He doesn't know. Only Irene, Yeri, Seulgi, Rosé and Lisa know." I admit to him.

"So I'm not the last to know?" He asks, a smile coming to his face.

"No, you're not." I laugh slightly, knowing he hated being the last to know things.

"Good. I told you I know all the gossip." He says, lightening the tension.

"Yes, you do." I admit, going to stand. I put my glass in the sink, turning back I see him stand as well, both of us walking out of the kitchen. He heads towards his office door, while I go towards the sitting room.

"Jennie?" He says getting me to stop before opening the door to the sitting room. I look over at him.

"Yeah?" I ask.

"Are there butterflies?" He asks softly, a curious expression on his face.

"Yeah, there are." I admit so quietly, I wasn't sure he could hear me. Yet when I look up I know he heard. He looks at me with a small, knowing smile beside giving me a nod and going into his office.

I stand there for a minute, staring at the office door, wondering if he was being truthful when he said he wasn't annoyed.

"Oh my God." Yeri says when I walk into the sitting room. One look at her face tells me she heard the whole conversation. "He knew!"

I take a seat on the sofa and look out the window, looking at Jisoo's car parked in her driveway.

"Yeah, he did."
