We sat back down. My heart continued to beat hard with the rush of excitement I'd get when I would perform.

Tori appeared on the stage. "Wow, that was such a great performance by the Arcadians. I'm sad to tell you that the next performance will be the last. The band Hellfire is well known across the campus, especially since they received second place last year. Now give it up for Hellfire!"

The audience whooped and cheered as the five people appeared on stage. Lark gave the audience a cocky yet charming smirk that melted the hearts of most of the girls in the room. His brown eyes smiled as he swept a hand through his hair. He just oozed sexual charm.

Kota next to me tilted his head towards me, studying me. I blinked as his green eyes stared at me. I leaned over. "What?"

He pressed his lips together. "Just wondering."

I frowned. "At what?"

"If you think he's handsome," he said bluntly.

I wanted to smirk. I couldn't help but tease with him. "He is."

His green eyes turned owlish. "What?"

I swiped my thumb over the corner of my mouth as if drool was leaking. "He's sexy. His bedroom brown eyes. His stylish yet messy hair. His body." I waved my hand as if I was trying to cool down. "He's sexy."

I flinched when Ryker pinched my thigh. I sighed again, looking at Ryker who had a grumpy face. I awed before hugging my boyfriend. "But he isn't as sexy as you, pooh-bear."

A chuckle escaped when I couldn't help but laugh at his cute but grumpy face. He was just too adorable. Dark blue eyes narrowed at me before a slight smirk came onto his face. "I know. Just don't talk about other guys around us."

I rolled my eyes as the band started to play. They had a contemporary rb&b and pop sound which attracted a lot of people's attention. Lark's voice was smooth with a slight husk that made people want to keep listening to him.

At 22 years old
They're telling me I'll never make it on my own
That I should leave it all behind & let it go
And Let the industry decide my tomorrow
But I can feel it & I know I'm getting close
I stand on stage with people singing words I wrote
I feel the music make its way throughout their bones
So if I give it all up now I'll never know

You know that I can't be anybody else
I feel better when I know myself
You keep telling me I need your help
I won't ever need your help
No I'll never need your help

At 23 years old
Took just under a year to prove them wrong
Now they decide they want to listen to my songs
And Take the credit for what I've already done
But everything I've done so far I've done alone
And Now they're left out leaving missed calls on my phone
Trying to cut in line for tickets to my show
I guess I knew I had it in me all along

You know that I can't be anybody else
I feel better when I know myself
You keep telling me I need your help
I won't ever need your help
No I'll never need your help

I was told when I was 13
I could do things; others couldn't seem to believe
'Til they met me
That's when I'd retreat, to my dreams
Where I'd see things, others couldn't see
Through a beat, pen & poetry
Now I know I breathe for a reason
Now I know I write from the mind of the teacher
I used to watch the sheep as they wait for a leader
Now I guess they found out who I am

You know that I can't be anybody else
I feel better when I know myself
You keep telling me I need your help
I won't ever need your help
You know that I can't be anybody else
I feel better when I know myself
You keep telling me I need your help
I won't ever need your help
No I'll never need your help

"Oh, they're good," Victor stated as he watched the members. They were the ones he suspected the most. Of course he spent more time studying them than I did due to the obvious missions that were burdened onto my shoulders.

"But that doesn't mean they're the ones," Ryker frowned as he noticed Lark looking in their direction. "Wait,  I take that back."

I rolled my eyes. "Don't let jealousy get to you."

He snorted. "Jealousy? I think not."

"Oh, it's there," Kota drawled as he was looking on something on the phone. "They're not clear but I suspect last year's bands. The second place winner along with the fourth place winner are here."

"Oh? Who are they?" I leaned over to look at his phone.

He moved to let me see the screen easier. He pointed at the words on the screen. "Second place is Twin Nights. The fourth is Suneater."

"What about the judges?"

Kota hummed. "All of the judges are the same except for Min Yoongi. He replaced a lesser known American band member Wes Baker."

I nodded. "Well, we have to the end of the contest to find the culprit."
