There was a rumbling which undertook the castle as a large Galra ship landed on the surface of our planet. I quietly stared in awe as the ship stood mountains above our own, bringing a sting of doubt to my chest. Our screens flickered a deep hue of purple as a dark figure stood awaiting inside,
"It is time," a smile creeped upon her face as I shuddered at her image. Pained memories being revived at the sight of her horrid face, her dark yellow eyes beeming down on us.
The gates of the Galra ship opened, two druids standing inside, patiently awaiting the witches orders. I breathed a heavy sigh, feeling a large weight on my shoulders forcing me down. I held composure but somewhere inside I felt myself sinking down, doubt pulling at my leg.
I felt something move inside of my jacket, I peeked inside and smiled as I found four mice cuddling together and sleeping soundly in my pocket. A warm smile spread on my lips, whisking away my worries as I watched them hug each others tails while they slept.
For a moment I was able to breath, forget about the mission that stood ahead of me. My shoulders felt lighter, a warmness surrounded my soul as I watched the little Alteans hold onto eachother for comfort, their breathing slowed in union as they slept.
I took a deep breath and looked back up to see Keith watching me. He quickly averted his gaze, causing a smile to form on my lips. His gaze returned to me momentarily, a soft look replacing his glassy eyes. Our eyes met from across the room, his purple bleeding into me, our eyes caught in a trance unable to look away. His lips tugged slightly upwards, an unconscious smile being formed on his lips. I smiled back, watching as his purple eyes outlined themselves in a warm pink, a thin line breaking around the purple within his pupil as he watched me. Without realizing, Shiro walked between us, crossing our path as he made his way across. We broke eye contact, I was slightly embarrassed as a light red tinted my cheeks. I think pink just became my new favorite color.
"Alright it's time to move out!" Shiro announced bluntly to the room. I skidded forward, avoiding Keith and Matt as I made my way to the door. Keith joined me anyways, hesitantly behind me before pulling up to my side,
"Are you okay," he asked kindly as he walked beside me,
"Yeah," I said in my most confident tone, hoping it would hide my nerves as I breathed calmly,
"You sure?" He asked slowing his pace a bit, I stared ahead as I mumbled a response,
"Mhmm," nodding my head I never realized that Keith had stopped following me. Instead he grabbed my hand and forcefully turned me around,
"No, you're not, tell me what's wrong," his tone became stiff, something that he had rarely spoke to me with. I tried freeing my hand from his grasp but his hold on me was tighter,
"Keith, I'm fine let me go," I struggled against him as his hand grabbed my other arm. Easily pinning both of my wrists in one of his hands as another wrapped itself around my waist. Pulling my body into his chest as I struggled to be free. His lips hovered above my ear, whispering something gently as if it was meant for only me to hear.
"I promised myself that I would never let myself lose you again. Because for once in my life, I don't know if I could live knowing that you weren't there with me."
His tight grasp loosens, dropping my hands from his tight hold as he held onto me lightly, his fingers barley grazing my back. Tears stung my eyes as I watched him, a faint smile formed on his lips as he lifted his sleeve, exposing a dark tattoo inside the crook of his elbow. A small heart was inked into his skin, a bolded word imprinted in the middle of it clearly written in Galran hand writting.
" 'im sorry' " he said softly, reading the print. The same bolded words that I once said to Keith when he found me in the Balmera. A flood of tears ran down my eyes as I choked on my own words, not being able to hold myself together any longer. I collapsed into Keith's chest, red streaks of tears running down my cheeks as I held onto him tightly.
"Tell me what's wrong," he whispered as I held onto him tightly. His grip around me kept me comfort as I breathed him in, holding onto him for dear life.
"I'm scared... I'm scared of seeing her again," I said softly into his chest, hearing my muffled voice ring through my ears, "I'm not strong enough," Keith cradled me gently, stroking my hair as he pulled my head back gently, resting his forehead on mine. I closed my eyes, struggling to hold the tears inside me that were spilling out.
"(Y/N), look at me," I felt a wet droplet touch my hand as I opened my eyes, seeing a tear roll down the side of his face and fall onto my hand.
"You are the strongest person I know," I nodded my head lightly as I lifted my hands up, pushing against his strong chest for him to stop talking. He held onto my forearms tightly, gently shaking me as his own body trembled, tears building up behind his eyes,
"You are strong," he pressed his soft lips against my forehead,
"Brave," he kissed my tear stained cheek,
"Loving," he entwined his hand with mine, my left hand still pressed against his chest as he kissed my hand softly,
"Gorgeous," he cupped my chin and looked straight into my eyes, his purple turning a light hue of pink as it seeped into my soul,
"Woman," his forehead rested on mine as he tilted his face towards me, his hand holding mine lovingly,
"Perfect," he whispered, pushing a strand of hair behind my ear as his lips slowly found mine. Feeling me, Breathing me, Loving me. And so I loved his, a passion held strongly between us, unspoken of how true his words meant to him and to me. A tear fell down his cheek as he held me to him, our emotions bleeding into each other.
We pulled apart, holding each other in our arms. I looked into his eyes, seeing a reflection of my own inside of them. I held his hand tightly, bringing his arm up between us as I kissed his tattoo, my lips lingering against his soft skin,
"What would you do if Haggar tries to hurt me again?" I asked while tracing his tattoo lightly. He watched me as my eyes wandered over the tattoo, my new favorite part of his perfectly built body. Keith's answer came in less than a heartbeat,
"I'd kill anyone for you," I looked up at him, his eyes displaying nothing but love and honesty. I raised myself up to my toes and kissed his lips, closing my eyes as he closed his, his mouth felt warm and gentle against mine. I pulled back, his lips still lingering on mine as if he didn't want to let go.
"So I'm guessing you don't just want to be 'friends' anymore," he said smiling down at me. I could feel his nerves picking up slightly, embarrassed at himself for being so open towards me. I chuckled at him, giggling slightly as he relaxed his arms around my shoulders,
"I don't know, you might have to fight off Lance for me," I said laughing as he beemed back a smile,
"Anything for you," he said while wrapping an arm around around my waist as I leaned my head onto his shoulder. He kissed my head lightly, a moment of peace passing between the two of us before something caught his eye,
"Hey, why is your jacket moving?" He asked chuckling under his breath.
"Oh no," four Altean mice climbed through my jacket and popped their heads out of my collar. They began squealing with excitement as Keith and I exchanged worried glances.
"Allura knows," I said laughing as the mice climbed from me and hopped on top of Keith's shoulders.
"Lance is gonna kill me," he said laughing as he gently petted their fury heads.
