~Mitch's POV~

Unbearable pain.

That was what I was currently feeling. It was as if someone had thrown a rock right at my head. The pain was radiating all over my skull down my entire body and I wasn't sure if I would be able to stay like this any longer. The never ending pounding I was feeling in my head was not helping one bit to make me feel any better.

After spending a few more minutes laying in pain, I tried opening my eyes but failed miserably as they stayed closed tightly. I couldn't open my eyes, I couldn't move a muscle and I was in pain. Whatever was happening to me was not fun at all. All I wanted to do was open my eyes and ask someone to give me anything to help with the pain but it was impossible.

I could vaguely hear people running around and talking next to me, they seemed agitated but I couldn't understand why. I couldn't even properly hear anything they were saying. My ears felt numb, rendering the voices to distant indistinguishable mumbles, as if I was under water while my mind was foggy and unfocused.

I was about to try and move again when the pounding in my head became heavier and ten times more painfull. I whimpered, the only sound that had escaped my mouth since I had regained consciousness, feeling myself clenching my teeth before letting a scream I could barely hear before I fell into a sudden dead silent darkness and I found myself unconscious again.

~Inside Mitch's head~

Today was my father's birthday and I just had to be late. Mom had told me to hurry but I must be the slowest human on earth. I had went to the store to buy candles for the cake since my mom didn't have any but I got suddenly distracted by a blond girl working at the store who had smiled at me and said a sweet hello to me when we crossed path and next thing I knew I was already ten minutes late for my own father's birthday.

I walked as fast as I could on the sidewalk --which wasn't very fast-- and crossed the road without paying attention since I was way too preoccupied by the text message I was sending my mom only to nearly get hit by a car. I jumped, startled as the car's tires screeched as the driver stepped on the brake and honked at me furiously. I looked at the person to apologize but quickly realizing that it was the same blond girl from the store that was looking at me in disbelief. She opened her window and passed her head through the opening.

"Can't you look where you're fucking going?" She asked angrily, probably got scared to hit me with her car while I stood there frozen in the middle of the road as I stared at her again. "I could have killed you dumbass"

"I-I uh" I stuttered and blinked. She raised an eyebrow at that and I cursed myself for being so awkward.

"You what?" She asked and I licked my lips nervously. I was so bad at talking to girls. Pathetic.

"I-I'm sorry" I said and she didn't say anything before her eyes softened as she heard my embarrassing apology.

"Hum it's fine" She replied with a small smile. "Just be careful next time, okay?" She said and I quickly nodded, still standing there like an idiot before she awkwardly gestured for me to move out of the way and I stumbled to the side to let her drive again. She drove passed me and waved with a small smile still on her face before leaving.

I blinked a few times again before gasping and running --something I never would've done-- when I realized my mother was going to murder me. I stepped inside my house, hearing her prepare things in the kitchen and I closed my eyes, sighing and joined her in the kitchen.

"What took you so long, Mitch?" She asked with an angry frown, walking towards me and snatching the candles from my hand, putting them quickly on the cake before lighting them up.
