Impact... Impact... IMPACT!
The small skeleghost sat up with a gasp, looking around wildly only to see... Nothing?
"What the- Hello?!" He called, trying to figure out where he was.
There was only silence. The darkness of the void was all-consuming because that's exactly where Impact was. He was naked and afraid; alone in the void. The domain of none other than the nonexistent W.D. Gaster. Of course, our young hero doesn't yet know that quite yet.
Tears filled his eye sockets as he curled in on himself. What was going on? Why was he in a weird dark world? Where were his Dads?
"Daddy! Papaton! Where are you?! Please!" He sobbed.
The words bounced around the void until they faded into the darkness. He was alone. He was alone. H e w a s a l o n e..-
"Hello, young one,"
Impact nearly jumped out of his skin, "AH! Wh-Who the heck are you?"
The being chuckled and he whirled around to see the goopy mess that used to be an acclaimed scientist. Skeletal hands floated idly by his sides. For some reason, River Person's warning popped into his head.
Beware the man that speaks in hands.
The goop guy didn't seem all that bad, though, "I am Doctor W. D. Gaster. I apologize for startling you, child. I understand my presence can be quite... Shocking. Stand up, dear boy. Let me look at you,"
Impact uneasily rose to his feet. The doctor didn't seem to be a threat, just... Sad. He sounded genuinely happy to see him; as if he hadn't had any company in a long time.
"Uh... I'm the Invincible Impact. It's nice to meet you, sir. Sorry, but, where am I?" He asked, looking the doctor in the eye sockets like his Dad taught him.
"You are in the void. I'm- You have no idea how long I've waited to meet you," He said.
"The void? What's that? How did I get here? I'm pretty sure last time I checked I was in Waterf-"
"Do not fear, my grandson. You simply have a more sensitive consciousness than most. You heard my call and came for me. For that, I am eternally grateful. It makes this next step much easier,"
Impact was even more confused and scared at that, "Grandson? I'm sorry, do you know my Daddies?"
The doctor let out a broken laugh, "I'm getting ahead of myself again, apologies. Your father, Papyrus, just so happens to be one of my creations. That would make you, in a technical sense, my only grandson,"
He gasped. This goopy science guy was family? Well, now he knew he could trust him! He beamed, "I'm so happy to meet you, Doctor Grandpa!"
"As am I," Gaster said, chuckling lowly, "Now, child..."
"Come here,"
A shiver ran down Impact's spine. Something primal was screaming at him that this man was bad news. Even if he claimed to be family, the look on his face was not trustworthy.
He hesitated for a split second as the scientist slowly grew into a more menacing form. In retrospect, that uncertain second probably saved his life. If he would've gotten any closer, he would have been captured.
As Gaster loomed over his "Grandson", Impact felt an unmistakable instinct in his bones, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
He didn't need to be told twice. Quick as a mouse, the skeleghost ran into the void.
"Where are you going, GRANDSON!" Gaster's voice boomed throughout the void, sending a violent tremor through his bones. He didn't know what the doctor wanted with him, but he wasn't planning on sticking around to find out.
