Elusive Love

Strange, how
A broken heart makes you want to try
Even harder to find love, and yet
Give up, crawl back to the dark and cry
There's a fish in the sea, you can bet
But not that I can see, do you know why?
The water is murky, so best not to fret
You couldn't find love with a crystal to scry
Some souls bond when they've first met
But some fish need a long time to fry
Some are caught by the hook, others by net
So us humble fishers must search and pry
It's a process, cumbersome but we must vet
Or else the love bug might bite us in the eye
Even if we look just to cuddle and pet
Cause love can be cruel and quite wry
It stabs in the heart for there's blood to be let
Lest your soul fester in your heart and grow a sty
So I think I'll just tell love goodbye
