THE GRADUATING CLASS WILL be deciding which regiment they will be joining. That being said, the survey corps would be heading back into the city of Trost to speak to the cadets. Erwin already having his speech ready, his plan to recruit more cadets into joining the regiment were now in full fledged.

Though Elias would be on 'Eren duty,' he didn't seem to mind it this time. He hated being in front of big crowds. The mere thought of having hundreds of eyes watching his every move didn't ease his nerves whatsoever. Being with Eren—as annoying as his company is, made him feel comfortable.

The dou were currently walking in the heart of the city. Elias made sure that the hood of Eren's sweatshirt covered the majority of his face, the redhead wanted to avoid as much attention as possible. Seeing how Levi had given them the day off, the redhead wanted to treat the titan shifter to his favorite shops.

Eren quite enjoyed seeing the laidback side to the officer—reminding him of his childhood when Elias would visit on his days off. Now that the brunet thinks about it, the two were quite close back in their childhood. Growing distant when Elias became a scout two years after his arrival.

He'd never admit it, but he missed having the redheads company. Elias would always go along with anything that Eren wanted to do, whether it maybe be cloud watching, playing soldier, or even watching the scouts come back from their expeditions. The brunet always had the redhead by his side.

Ever since Elias turned ten, those frequent visit turned to none. Eren could only catch glimpses of the redhead whenever he was in town to run errands. But even then, he always had another soldier beside him—never giving him the chance to approach his friend.

It irritated him, how Elias acted like he didn't know him. Referring to him by all these nicknames, keeping distance whenever he was near—Eren knew the redhead was doing it on purpose. Each time he tried to confront Elias, he would see the officer approach another soldier, stopping him from causing a scene.

Elias could see the brunet's clenching fist. Already getting an idea on what's bother him. "I have my reasons"Elias roughly blurted out. His eyes narrowing at two boys running around.

The titan shifter also looked at the duo. The two boys reminiscent of how they were at that age. Looking back, Eren's teal eyes were met with Elias's cold hazel. Those hazel eyes that once looked at him with kindness now held discontentment. Having had enough of the officers attitude, he decided now was the best time to ask him.

"...why can't we go back to how things were?"

Eren could see the redheads face distort, expressing an emotion he couldn't fully read. As he tried reaching out to him, Elias started moving forward. Not once looking back at the brunet behind him.

"We aren't kids anymore. Get over it, Eren"

"Where the fuck is titan boy?" Elias groaned out. Seeing the empty stable, still dirty, with no annoying hothead made his blood run cold. If Levi were to hear of this, Elias knew for a fact that he would be in for an ass beating. It wasn't until he heard the loud chattering of the rookies did he decide to step out the stables.

There stood the brat that he was looking for. Elias disregarded the tense aura that surrounded the small circle that surrounded the brunet. Those who saw him approaching froze up, the sight of his harsh glare freighted them. A blond tried grabbing Eren's attention but was too late as the officer roughly tugged on his friend's ear.

Eren was about to yell at the person until he came face to face with Elias. Seeing how the redhead kept son tapping his foot, the brunet knew that he had annoyed the officer. The brunet muttered his goodbyes to his classmates as he made his way back to the stables. Elias looked over the recruits, stopping at two familiar faces.

He motioned for the rest to go and get their uniforms—leaving to 'babysit' Jaeger. The redhead tried to clear head, but those damn shocked faces irked him. Never would he have thought he'd see Reiner and Bertholdt here on Paradis. If those two were here, that meant there were two other warriors on the island...

Elias was brought out of his daydreaming. The ringing of the bell bringing him back to reality. As the gate slowly started opening, he turned over to Eren who seemed to be taking everything in. As he nudged the brunet to get his attention, all of his worries started circulating through his head.

He's not sure how Eren would take what he was about to say next. His palm slowly started to grow sweaty as it rested on top of Eren's shoulder. Squeezing it ever so slightly, he leaned in, whispering three words.

"Don't regret anything"
