The Sound of Silence

Everyone was shocked. They had expected some cheesy love song or even some pop, but a slow and sad one? Well they never thought that the Jaune they knew would sing something like this.

Ruby, Weiss and Yang thought that this should have been Blake's forte. While Nora and Pyrrha also thought the same about their resident quiet black haired guy Ren.

Blake and Ren both don't know why, but they suddenly have the urge to punch their teammates.

"In restless dreams I walked alone

When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light

Everyone were slightly uncomfortable and feel concern for their friend Jaune as they continued to listen to his song. Ruby even started to have tears forming on her eyes.

Pyrrha, Nora and Ren thought that he might be having trouble with bullies once more. Team RWBY also thought the same.

They all looked at each other and nodded, silently promising to each other to talk to Jaune if he has any problems.

"And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sound of silence"

It ends with Jaune letting go of the piano and looked at the camera, which made it seem like he was looking at _NPR and RWBY.

"Silence. All I ever wanted was silence, just for a couple of moments in my home. A family as big as mine, trust me, you don't get much of it. This is why I wrote and sang this."

He had a small smile on his face and bowed, then the screen turned black.

Everyone was silent. Their faces blank and eyes still on the screen.

Then, all of their faces started twitching.

'W-Was that it? Was that the reason you wrote and sang that depressing song?!' They all thought simultaneously, annoyance and irritation clear on their faces.
