"Is that really a good idea?" I questioned looking between the two of them.

"I'll be fine, I'll drop these two lovebirds off first." Mia reassured, she gave us a wave before closing the door.

We walked in silence the majority of the way back, I didn't really mind because I knew Seb wasn't a big talker anyway. I stopped at my gate, Seb stood with his hands stuffed into the pockets of his dark jeans.

"Care to tell me why you walked me home?"

"I wanted to do this." Seb returned before cupping my face and kissing me.

I put my hands on his chest and pushed him back, Seb stopped and took a step back from me.

"Beth, I'm sorry I thought after what happened in the van that you-" Seb started, but I cut him off.

"It's okay, I'm flattered Seb, I really am. I can't do this with you right now, I have feelings for someone else and I can't lead you on. You're one of the few friends I have around here and I don't want to mess that up." I explained and Seb sighed casting his eyes towards the ground.

"I understand, but where is this someone else right now?"

"I know how it feels to be led on and given hope that something could happen with someone, it hurts like a bitch and I won't do that to you." I told him wrapping my arms around myself.

"Thank you for setting me straight, I'll see you later." Seb concluded and I nodded watching him walk off down the street.

I made it to my room without waking grandma or Grace up, this was turning into a bad habit. I was lucky that I hadn't been caught sneaking in, Grandma would never let me out of her sight again if she did catch me. I changed and got into bed, my face flushed from the beer. I fell asleep not long after just trying to take everything day by day.

The next morning I met Fiona frantically scrambling out of the house with Liam in her arms, Grace left with the rest of the Gallagher's earlier because I had been helping grandma find the phone number for a plumber because one of the pipes in the bakery's toilets had burst but Hank didn't tell grandma until this morning. Grandma was panicking about the possible water damage so I stayed behind to calm her down.

"Beth, I really hate to ask you this but do you think you could take Liam to Sheila's on your way to school? I've got somewhere to be and I'm already running late." Fiona rambled and I held my arms out to take Liam from her.

"Who's Sheila?" I questioned not remembering her ever being mentioned before.

"Karen's mom, doesn't live too far from the tracks. It's a little out of your way from school but not too much." Fiona informed me, her phone started to ring.

"I'll take him, I'll see you at work on Friday." I agreed, I took the bag with his things from her too.

"Thank you so much, I'll see you then."

I crossed back to my house when grandma was coming out the door.

"Any chance of a ride? Fiona needs us to drop off Liam to Sheila and I can walk from there if you need to get to the bakery." I spoke walking with her towards her car with Liam.

"I can drop you as far as Sheila's, Hank is currently with the plumber and I'd rather be there myself to make sure things are actually getting fixed." Grandma replied, I sat in the back seat with Liam.

Liam played with a little dinosaur toy during the short car journey to Sheila's house, I wondered if Karen's mom was anything like her or even if she knew what Karen was like at all. I climbed the steps to the house after waving at grandma, I knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. I struggled to hold Liam and the two bags, the door opened and a hand immediately stuck out with a plastic bag.

"Hi Fiona, please put your shoes in this bag- oh you're not Fiona but I still need you to put your shoes in the bag." The woman who I presumed was Sheila stated, she still held the plastic bag out towards me.

"Hello, I'm Beth. I live across the street from the Gallagher's, Fiona asked me to drop Liam off but I can't come in because I need to get to school." I explained and Sheila nodded opening her arms to take Liam from me.

"Okay, it was nice meeting you." Sheila concluded after I handed her the bag with all of Liam's things.

I turned around and headed back down the steps and out the gate, now to try and get to school on time.

Sheila was definitely different than I had expected, but she seemed like a nice woman.

Author's Note;
This is really just a filler chapter because there are some big things on the way that will hopefully come as a shock to you guys but we'll just have to wait and see.

Do you think that Beth let Seb down gently without hurting his feelings too much?
