Reward

"Yeah, that's _______. Usopp will be happy to see her. Let's leave them be for the moment and remain with Viola." He commented, turning to walk away with a little smirk on his face.

Kin'emon followed, sort of getting the situation like the halfwit he was. That left the silent you putting your attention on Usopp who had stopped pacing now, his back facing the direction you climbed up as he stared absent mindedly into the battlefield below. He hadn't noticed you yet, and you used this chance to take a sneak up on behind him and surprise him with your presence.

Doing as such, you tiptoed across the grass until you were right up behind him, minding your step to not alert him. You wanted him to damn near piss himself when you spoke, so you were extra cautious with your approach. Then, you heaved in a nice large breath, filling your lungs with the air you were to need soon.

"YO USOPP!" You screamed, making him scream in surprise at the sound and leap four feet forwards. "How's that five star title treating ya~?" You added on with your normal tone, hands on your hips in wait for him to turn around.

He froze mid scream and halted, slowly turning around at the sound of your voice coming through the screams of below and from him. Upon his one hundred and eighty degree turn, he looked your form up and down almost a hundred times it seemed as his scream resumed as a small squeal instead, tears streaming down his face as he tackled you to the ground in the biggest lung crushing hug ever.

"Woah there! I thought you'd be all tuckered out by now! It seems you still have quite the grip." You laughed, returning the hug as best you could while pinned to the ground.

"I thought you were dead! Oh my god I'm so glad you're alive! Jesus Christ you're alive!" He whined, nuzzling into you as he kept hugging you tighter.

"I won't be for long if you keep crushing me, Usopp." You choked with a slight chuckle, noting how hard he was squeezing you with the help of gravity.

"Shit s-sorry!" He said quickly, getting off of you and sitting up on the ground in front of you, drying a few of his tears.

You sat up and sighed deeply, taking in the breath that was almost taken away from you. "So, you though I was dead huh?" You started bluntly.

"Well... I was hoping you weren't. It's such a wreck down there that anything could happen..." Usopp muttered. "But I waited, and here you are I guess!"

"Yeah, here I am." You scoffed. "Like a hundred guys were after me man. I'm only three stars like shit they need to calm down." You laughed.

"Three.... Christ the reward for you is so high. I'm so glad you made it out of there alive."

"The reward for me? How about the frickin reward for you, GOD USOPP." You remarked, reminding him of the fact that he was the most wanted on this war filled island at the moment.

"Well... Uh... eheheh..." He stuttered sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.

"So Mr. Most Wanted, what's the reward for you getting caught?" You inquired, waggling your brows at him.

"Oh uh... five hundred million beli, and uh... I don't remember whatever you want?" He said dumbly, not remembering to well as he babbled nonsense in his loss of the moment.

"Anything I want eh? I'll take it." You smirked, leaping at him and putting him in a tough head lock and caching him by surprise as he fell into you and the headlock. "So, what's my prize, Usopp~?"

"Aw come on! You're cheap!" He laughed, playing at your joke.

"I think I know what I want my reward to be. You can also keep the cash hun." You giggled, releasing him for your headlock.

"Oh yeah? And what's your reward of choice then _______?" He asked, curious to hear the continuation of your scheme.

"Come closer and I'll tell you." You beckoned with a grin.

Usopp rolled his eyes, happy to see your usual self back her with him as he leaned in closer within whispering distance to hear what you had to say. "So tell me."

"Oh I don't need to tell you. I'll just show you." You hummed, taking advantage of his closeness and capturing him in a surprise kiss.

Usopp immediately became covered in a scarlet blush at your actions, not exactly expecting this to be the kind of reward you wanted from your joke. You could sense the shock in him, and flicked him in the back of the head as if to tell him to relax as you leaned into him further, pressing him to the ground and crawling on top of him. Soon, Usopp couldn't help but to chuckle at this, and set his hands at your waist as he returned your kiss, enjoying the cheesy yet lovely moment you had placed upon him. Being blessed with such an embrace during such violent times was something he truly needed to relax, and he was thankful that it was with you, not being dead and all.

This all lasted a moment longer until you decided to pull away from his lips, now staring down into his eyes with a dorky grin plastered on you face.

"I'm satisfied with my reward I think~!" You hummed.

"And where did this little idea come from?" Usopp inquired, raising a brow at you.

"Well, while I was being mercilessly attacked, I thought to myself that I have to get out of this alive and make it to the plateau. I have to make it for Usopp. I have to make it to share my first kiss with him, and tell him I love him, even in this hellish environment." You elaborated to him with a smile.

"Jeez your motivation must've been strong then." He chuckled.

"That's because my motivation was you, you five star dolt." You snorted, falling back on top of him and wrapping him in a warm hug. "I love you Usopp. Thanks for worrying. It made my explosive run much more worth it."

"I love you too _______. Why do you think I was pacing back and forth in constant worry?" He remarked.

"Because you wanted to share my reward with me?" You smirked, trying to be cheeky.

    He chuckled at that and squeezed you tighter in the hug. "Sure. Because I wanted to share your reward with you. Just so I can keep sharing it with you for the rest of my life." He added, pecking your cheek as held you close against him on the surprisingly soft grass.
