How Long Has It Been?

The sound of the Thousand Sunny breaking the water and sinking below could be heard off the side of the Sabaody Archipelago, the bubble coating shielding the still pristine beauty of a ship as it sank, air filling the interior to allow the inhabitants of the ship to breathe. The descent was slow, smooth, and rather beautiful as well. The slow movement didn't disturb the sea life, and allowed for excellent viewing from anyone who decided to sit quietly on the ship's railing. Though, quiet wasn't exactly anything that could happen on this ship for very long. After all, it was the Straw Hat's, so what would you expect?

Screaming, yelling, and over excited fascination described this moment perfectly. This loud screeching coming from half the crew, especially from Luffy, was something you almost missed over the long period of time away from everyone, though some silence would also be nice too. Nevertheless, you still grinned at these idiots, watching them jump and scream about. You still kinda missed it, so you just sat back and enjoyed it while you could.

"SANJIIIIII! LET'S COOK UP ALL THESE COOL FISH!" Luffy laughed, mouth watering as he leapt from one side of the ship to the other, pointing at all the fish he caught in his sight.

"Luffy, no! You'll pop the damn bubble coating! Eat what we have you stupid food whore!" Nami scolded, stepping out on deck to shut him up.

"YES! Listen to Nami-swaaAAAN~!" Sanji echoed, blood bursting from his nose at the sight of her yet again.

"Dammit not again! Usopp! Get the pictures, Sanji needs more rehab!" Chopper screeched, running over with a blood bag.

"On it!" Usopp nodded, following after Chopper with a stack of photos, all of them being Nami, and kneeling down on the deck, preparing for yet another rehabilitation session.

Seeing this for about the third time today, you giggled and watched as Usopp flashed pictures of Nami in front of Sanji in an attempt to get him used to seeing a real woman again. All of it failed and he fainted, blood pooling around his head from his nose. Chopper evacuated Sanji from the vicinity with a few others, asking for aid on helping their dumbass cook get his shit together for the journey ahead. After that little episode, the deck was nearly cleared of people. Usopp had sighed from mental exhaustion and decided to put away all the photos, and Brook was the last one standing outside, still sane after that explosion of randomness. Well, Zoro was out too, but he was busy sleeping, as per usual, on the deck, not noticing anything yet again.

As much as you missed their asses, this moment of peace right now was actually perfect. Finally, you could gaze at the hidden depths of the sea with some silence, or, maybe not total silence. A bit of music would be nice.

"Brook!" You called, sitting yourself on the ship's railing. "Could you c'mere for a sec?"

Hearing your call, Brook perked up and walked over to you. "Yes _______-san?" He questioned.

"Hey, I know you've become a big rock star and all, but I was wondering if you still play violin. I... kinda want some background music to make this cool atmosphere even cooler." You asked innocently, a little skeptical of your own question.

"Of course I do _______!" Brook laughed. "I'd love to play right now anyway! Suggest a tune, you finely tuned in musical taste of a woman~!" He flattered.

You smiled at this. "The usual then! You always seem to play it better than most people ever can." You replied with confidence, nodding to him.

"Of course! Bink's Sake it is." Brook nodded, bowing slightly before stepping back.

You smiled warmly at him and watched him take long strides over to the men's quarters briefly before returning with his still treasured violin. Setting up quickly, Brook stood on the opposite side of the ship as you, and began playing a slow, smooth, non-lyrical version of Bink's Sake, filling the atmosphere with the sweet sound of his violin strings. Now with a far more peaceful moment like this, you held your smile and turned back around, gazing out at the fish that swam by, feeling a sense of new peace and serenity after so long away from this ship and its people.
