She was shoved down to the floor extra harshly in front of Janson, he grinned at her face and kicked her once in the stomach. Newt wanted to tear forwards and attack Janson, but he knew that he would just end up electrocuted again. Janson leered down at Alice who was being pushed into line between Minho and Newt, "It would have been so much better for you if you used your memories for good and came back to us."

"I'd rather die." Alice snarled at him before a soldier shoved her neck down to read her tag and shouted out her designation, AB1.

Janson spoke angrily, "that can be arranged. Now, where's your brother?"

"Right here." Thomas spoke up while he walked over to Janson with his hands raised in an act of surrender, it was the last thing that she had been expecting, that he would so willingly give himself up. He got the same treatment that Alice did when she arrived, and he fell down next to Minho.

"Why didn't you run?" Minho asked after Janson had moved on from them.

Thomas answered simply with, "I'm tired of running."

There was the sound of a helicopter whirling overhead, when it landed Ava Paige stepped out and walked in front of them all. "Hello, Thomas."

When Teresa walked over to Ava and was welcomed, they knew that something was wrong, so they all got to their feet. Frypan was the first to speak, "what the hell? Teresa?"

"What's going on?" Newt asked.

Thomas sounded like a mix between angry and resigned, "she's with them." It clicked in all of their minds; she had betrayed them. They had been through hell together and she just easily traded them over to W.C.K.D even though she knew that they would all hate it. The anger in Alice reached a boiling point when Jason opened his annoying mouth and started talking, "Alice, you should have been with her on this side, after we gave you back your memories too, we didn't think that you would be such a disappointment."

Alice couldn't take it anymore and lunged forward at Teresa and managed to land a solid punch on her jaw before two soldiers grabbed her and pulled her to the side, "you bitch! You betrayed the only fucking family you have!"

Janson looked at Alice with contempt while they listened to Ava talk about finding a cure, he wanted her to see what they were going to do to the adults. This started with the brutal murder of Mary right in front of their eyes, she had no doubt that they would do it to the rest of them without even blinking.

"Come on Janson, load them up!" Ava ordered; this caused the two guards that were holding Alice to start dragging her over to the berg.

Alice struggled harshly and tried desperately to get back to Newt, who had just broken free of the guards that were holding him. Alice managed to take her two by surprise and she ran to Newt, she took his hand and managed to close it around something before she was dragged forcefully back by the guards and she had to watch while Thomas threatened to blow them all up in order to prevent them from getting so many kids.

"Do you really want all of them to die?" Ava questioned, being backed up by what Janson said only moments later.

The boys all crowded around Thomas and promised that they were with him, Alice spoke up from where the guards had paused to watch what was going on, they were only a few paces away from them and would be taken out in the explosion too, "I'm with you Thomas!"

"We're not going back there," Thomas spoke, but before he could set the bomb off a truck came charging over to the soldiers, they let Alice go in their surprise, but Janson quickly grabbed her by the back of her jacket and started talking her over to the berg himself. He threw her in and watched in amusement as she was held back by several guards.

She wanted nothing more than to be out there kicking ass with her family, but she was being so badly restrained that all she could do was fear for their lives as she was forced to watch. It was hard to keep an eye on them all, but she noticed when Minho was struck by one of the tasing grenades and brought over to the berg that she was also stood in.

Alice watched with an expression that showed no fear when Frypan, Newt, Thomas, Brenda and Jorge watched their berg get ready to take off. She locked eyes with both Newt and Thomas and mouthed an 'I love you' to them both, then the doors shut, and she was being flown away from everything she loved.

It was only then that Newt opened his clutched hand to see Alice's locket, it showed that she had no hope that they wouldn't take her away. It was the only way that she knew it would be safe.

Surrounded by smoke and flames, Newt slipped the locket over his own neck and made a promise to both himself and Alice that he would find her.

Her and Minho were the only members of the A group that they managed to get, and this meant that they got to room together at the W.C.K.D compound that they had been taken to. Alice put up a fight at every test and they had never used so much sedative on a singular person before that they actually had to tone it down for fear of overdosing her, her resistance gave her many bruises and pains.

There was one such day that Alice was pulled from her usual tests and shoved into a room then shackled to the table, as if she had full rein of her hands then she would definitely get out, she stared off in the distance while she waited for someone to arrive.

While she tried to maintain hope that Thomas and Newt were coming for her, it felt like the days passed like years and her hope started to dwindle. The weight fell off of her no matter how hard W.C.K.D tried to keep it on her, her face took on a haunted look and the mischievous spark in her eye slowly faded as the months dragged on.

She hardly noticed when Ava and Teresa walked into the room, Teresa kept her distance as she was still slightly afraid of what Alice might manage to do to her even in handcuffs.

In the corner of her eye, she noticed Ava starting a video recording before she sat down in front of Alice, "subject AB1, the only one in that group, twin to A2 and formed a romantic relationship with subject A5"

"We have names." Alice wheezed out of her disused throat while she rose her eyes to meet Ava's, "you may as well use them, I use yours when I do my affirmations of killing you each morning."

Ava wasn't fazed by what Alice said to her and instead moved on, "AB1 has resisted every test and put many guards into the hospital, her brain function is extremely promising, and she is our best shot at a cure. She, along with all the others will be moving to the Last City next week."

Alice had spent the entire time that Ava was talking sending a death glare at Teresa, she smirked when Teresa started to shift on her feet nervously.

Sure enough, the following week they were all scanned and then boarded onto a train. Alice started to struggle when she and Minho were placed into different train carriages, Teresa had likely decided that they would be separated from each other on the journey for the sole reason of Alice fighting her at every single turn.

Alice nodded at Aris and Sonya while she was pushed to the back of the carriage, shoved down in the last row, she was the only one in that row, and shackled to the ceiling. She spent a lot of the journey just staring directly ahead, at some point, she heard the sound of people running on the roof before their carriage slowed to a complete stop.

She could hear Thomas' voice, they had come for them.
