"I never asked, how did you get that scar, there." Jessica pointed at Ashley's eyebrow. "I don't remember it from before the whole mess."
"Oh." the brunette put down her water bottle. "Well, long story short, I went to a party quite a few months ago, got drunk, got in a fight, managed to get myself stabbed a few times."
"You sound so casual about it." she frowned, picking at the grass.
"It seems casual really, you know, coming from gangs and all that." Ashley's eyes followed Bonnie, who was running around the lower part of the field. The two of them had decided to go to the local park to watch the sunset on top of the hill there, as a friend date of course.
"I guess you're right." Jessica nodded and looked up at the sky. "It's so beautiful isn't it? The sky."
"It is." Ashley shifted closer to the blonde.
"I love it so much." she whispered, rolling onto her back and looking up at the brunette. "Almost as much-"
Jessica stopped herself and pretended as if nothing had been said.
"Almost as much as what?" the older woman frowned down at her.

The blonde shrugged and looked away, a harsh blush forming on her face. Ashley continued to look down at her and cupped her face with her hand.
"I won't push." she whispered, crossing her legs and watching the sun dip beneath the sea of trees on the horizon. Jessica looked back up at the brunette and sat up facing her. Ashley peered back at her and tilted her head to the side.
"What's up buttercup?"
The wait for the answer, which may have only been a few seconds, felt like forever for the older woman. The intense stares, the hitched breathing, the overwhelming temptation to reach out and pull her in. They both knew, but neither could make the first move.
"Nothing. But, we're alone." the blonde whispered, unsure of what she was going to do.
"I love the observations Jess." Ashley teased and pulled her in for a hug.
"Why thank you." Jessica pushed her down on her back and grinned mischievously when the brunette's breath hitched further. "Not so cocky now, are we?"

The two stayed like that for what felt like hours to the brunette before Jessica got up and packed the leftovers from their picnic away as if nothing happened.
"Move it lazy butt." the blonde smirked, picking up the blanket and putting it in the bag. She laughed at the flustered woman next to her. "Seriously are you good there Jones?"
"Y-yep." Ashley nodded and stumbled a little when Bonnie appeared behind her and nudged her forward. "Jeez Bonnie!"
"Come on you two, it's getting late." Jessica grabbed some bags and with Ashley's help took them to the car, getting in with the two.

Soon they were back in the apartment and playing 21 questions, wrapped up in blankets on Ashley's bed, with Netflix playing in the background.
"What is the weirdest thing you've ever dreamed about?" the blonde wrapped her blanket around Bonnie, who was sat on the bed with them and pulled the husky close.
"God, that's hard." Ashley drummed her fingers on her phone case. "I dreamt once that everything was upside down and then randomly fell on me. I don't remember much of my dreams."
"Of course I totally believe you." Jessica giggled. "You remember everything though!"
"I remember everything else," the brunette shook her head and chuckled. "I don't have space in my memory for dreams. Okay, my turn. Who is your current crush?"
"Gosh, you and your personal questions." the younger woman thought for a second. "I don't really have someone who is like definitely a crush but the closest I have to feeling like that for someone is probably... umm.... Probably one of my new clients, Tristin. She's adorable."
Ashley had to bite her lip to hide her disappointment, although she had a hunch that Jessica was lying. And usually those hunches were correct.
"I'm sensing that's not quite true." she raised an eyebrow teasingly.
"Maybe it isn't but I'm not disclosing that information for now." the blonde stuck her tongue out.

Soon enough the two were passed out on Ashley's bed, exhausted. Tangled up in the sheets, the soft snoring of the two was the only sound to be heard within the apartment. The brunette's face was lost in the mess of the other girl's blonde curls and the tight embrace was unbreakable.
Dawn was breaking in quickly and the two hadn't moved although the snoring had increased in volume quite a bit. Bonnie was curled up at their feet as the sun peeped through the curtains. Ashley stirred and pulled Jessica closer, burying her head into the back of her neck. It was then she realised what position they were in, her dark eyes widening slightly. She decided to ignore it, hoping to get a few more moments like this with the blonde before she woke up.
Don't hold back now Ashley. Today can be your chance. Ashley lightly kissed the back of Jessica's neck and relished the feeling of holding her in the early morning. Remember this moment of anything. This could be the last time you do this. The blonde groaned and turned over to face Ashley.
"You're thinking too hard Ash." she whispered, burying her head into the older woman's chest. "It's hurting my head."
"Awh I'm sorry." the older woman chuckled and held her close. "I'll stop thinking."
"Good." Jessica opened her eyes and looked up at her. "You're cute in the morning. Your hair is everywhere."
"Says you, I was suffocating in yours last night." Ashley teased, messing with the blonde's curls.
"Diddums." the younger woman stuck her tongue out.
"Shush."
"No."
"Shut up."
"Make me."
"Fine." Ashley cupped Jessica's face and smashed their lips together. To her surprise, the blonde kissed back almost immediately and pulled her closer by the waist. In shock, Ashley pulled back and looked at her, slightly dazed.
"Woah."
"W-what did you just do?"
