The only one! - Newt

Chapeter twenty-nine

We arrive at the city by the outside of the wall. "Let's move but quickly." Jorge says dragging us with him. It's crowded and people are trying to get inside of there for safety. We push ourselves through the crowd.

I look around and see people dressed in uniforms walking upon us. "Guys, we need to go, look!" I say. At that moment some machines appear which start shooting a lot of bullets. I feel someone grabbing my hand and dragging me away. I figure it's Newt.

We run into a small street and I get grapt by my waist. I scream and shout and try to lose myself but they throw me next to Thomas and Brenda into a bus. "I swear to God it those monsters did something to Newt I'ma kill all of them in no time." I say.

After a little while the doors open and both Jorge and Newt attack someone. "Where is she?" Newt asks on top of the soldier he is holding.

"Newt?" I ask. He looks at me, jumps up and pulls me into a hug. "Men these kids aren't normal anymore." The soldier says rubbing his cheek.

One of them takes of their helmet and we see none other then Gally. "Gally?" Thomas asks before smashing him to the ground. Newt runs up to them.

"Thomas stop ok, calm down." Newt says holding his fist so Thomas can't attack anymore.

"He killed Chuck!" Thomas says on the edge of tears.

"I know I was there remember, but what I also remember is that he was stung by a griever and half out his mind." Newt says calmly.

"He tried to sexually touch Hunter remember!" Thomas says. Newt's eyes change from soft to angry and now it's him who needs to be calmed down.

I get in front of him before he punches Gally and hold his hand. "Newt remember nothing happened it's nothing, let that bastard explain his story because for how much I remember, he died." I say.

We all get up from the ground and Gally explains he got saved. We follow him to the men called Lawrence. When we get there we see his face, burned and rotton away almost. I just smile at him sympathetically. "I like the girl." He says.

Newt takes my arm and pulls me behind him, overly protective. "Why do you like my girl?" Newt asks which makes me chuckle.

"She is the only one who smiled at me idiot! Now only two of you can go." Lawrence says pointing to Gally who has a plan of getting inside the walls.

"Good, Newt and Thomas go." Frypan says. "We'll wait here." They get ready and I see Newt holding his arm and I walk up to him.

"Are you ok?" I ask softly. He nods with a fake smile but I decide to question it later. They get inside and we sit around.

"Here, found this earlier, go try it." Brenda says giving me a pregnancy test.

"Where did you?" I start but she interrupts me.

"Don't ask questions." She says and I go try it. When I come out of the toilet she sees tears in my eyes. "What's up?" She asks holding my shoulders.

I show her the test. "Shit, you gotta tell him." I nod and we wait until they get back.

When they arrive we stand around a table deciding what to do. "She is our only chance to get into that building." Gally says.

"No! No we can't do that." Thomas replies. Newt gets angry and has lately a really short temper and I don't know why.

"Why? Because you're afraid your little girlfriend gets hurt?" He asks.

"What do you mean?" Thomas asks confused.

"It's never really been about saving Minho now is it? You just want to get back to Teresa!" He says standing up and before anything else happens I get in front of everyone.

"I need to tell you guys something." I say shortly.

"Can it wait?" Gally asks.

"I'm afraid not." I reply. Everyone looks at me and Brenda nods.

"What she knows something?" Newt asks pointing at Brenda. I throw the pregnancy test on the table and tears start forming my eyes.

"Newt I think you scored very well." Frypan says taking the test up.

"You're pregnant, how?" Newt asks confused.

"You know Newt when a boy and a girl do strange things they..." Jorge gets interrupted.

"That's not what I ment idiot, we used protection." He says a little angry. He sees the tears in my eyes and embraces me softly. "Hey it's fine, you'll be fine." He says rubbing my back. "I need to tell you guys something as well." He says sadly.

He pulls up his sleeve revealing he's diseased with the flame. "Newt no! No no you can't do this to me." I say crying he hugs me again and everyone has gone silent.

"Newt, how long?" Gally asks.

"Couple of days." Newt admits.
