We arrived at the kitchens, Newt standing next to me and introducing me. "Frypan, this is our new greenie, greenie this is Frypan, he is the best cook we have." Newt says smiling. I like how greenie is the word to describe me now.

"Nice to meet ya, people are talking about you, well here you go." Frypan says giving me a plate with a sandwich and a bottle of water. I take it thankful and sit down with Newt since he is the only one I trust.

While Newt was pulling me with him, I've noticed he has a heavy limp but I didn't want to question it. We eat silently and when we finish Alby walks up to me.

"Ok newbie, let's start the tour shall we? I have a lot to explain ya in just a short amount of time so pay attention to everything I'm saying." Alby says and walking to the middle of the field. I follow him.

"Welcome in the glade, the glade is the centre of the maze we're surrounded by, we call it our home. In the North West, there, you see Homestead, that's were the keepers, Newt and I sleep. It contains the kitchen and we have gatherings there, on the back of it we have the Slammer, that serve as jail." He says.

"North East, where the gardens are, where we grow our crops, and water is pumped since it never rains. The other boys sleep there too. South West, Deadheads, its the forest area with a small graveyard." Alby explains which catches my attention.

"G...graveyard? How many have died?" I ask scared. Every moment I'm in here longer I panic more, I don't know if that's suppose to happen but it does.

"A few, moving on, South East, the Bloodhouse, we breath and kill animals there. Then we have the box, every month it brings us a newbie, this month it was you but usually it were only boys, until you came. Every week it brings us supplies, clothes, food, etc."

"There we have the map room, only for runners and me, so stay away from it. We have three rules you better follow. Number one: Never go outside the glade unless you are a runner, it's dangerous out there. Number two: Never hurt another glader, we live with trust here. And Number three: Everyone does they're part here, no slackers." He says.

"Runners?" I ask as if that's the only thing I caught up with. He looks at me and smiles.

"Jobs, Runners: they are the fastest of us, they are the only ones who can leave the glade to find a way through the maze. Builders: they build things and upgrade them if needed. Cooks: as the name already explains, they make us food. Slicers: they are the slaughters here, they take care of the animals. Track- hoes: they work in the gardens, grow crops, etc. Med Jacks: they are our doctors. Sloppers: the people who aren't good at anything else and do the dirty work. Bricknicks: repair buildings but don't initially build them. And lastly Baggers: they're the guards and take care of death bodies." Alby explains.

My head hurts from all the information that had given me in the past fifteen minutes and I'm unsure at this point if I still remember everything.

"So from tomorrow, we will let you attend every job so we can see what best fit you, first of all, I need to hold a little meeting, so if you don't mind." Alby asks

"No go, I'll be fine." I reply softly. He nods and walks away. He yells something and everyone walks up to him, they all go inside the Homestead but I'm curious and wanna hear it. I walk to the wall and rest my head against it.

"So first of all, I want that girl to sleep here inside, who wants to share their room?" Alby asks loudly shutting everyone else down.

"Why? Is she getting special treatment because she is a girl?" Someone asks in disbelief.

"Look, we are here with round about fifty hormones teenage boys around one girl, I don't want anyone to get her pregnant." Alby responds which grosses me out for some reason.

"She can share with me, I don't really mind." I hear Newt say. Some boys start cheering and screaming at him like 'Go Newt!'

"Good, then again, I want some respect here, she is the first girl we've seen in years, be respectful!" Alby continues which makes me feel a little better. Good to know that he cares.

"Anything else?" The rude voice of Gally sounds.

"No, that's it, thanks for listening and get back to your places!" Alby replies simply. A whole lot of boys come out and look at me as I lean my back against the wall. I figure only Newt and Alby must still be in there, and I wanna listen, because it's probably about me.

"Look Newt, don't get me wrong, I was really happy when you said the girl can sleep in your room, because I trust you and you're least likely to do weird stuff but please don't get her bloody pregnant." Alby says almost desperate.

"I won't Alby stop saying these gross things." Newt replies almost immediately. They both walk out and see me. "Have you been standing there for long?"

"No I just arrived here actually, what do I do now?" I lied. Just because I don't wanna seem like a spy.

"Well you're sleeping in my room, I can show you it." Newt replies smiling softly. I nod and follow him.
