The only one! - Newt

Chapter twenty

We get out of the helicopter and walk inside a huge building. People are working everywhere and that's when a woman walks up to us. She wears a white doctor's jacket. "Good new arrivals, ow dear, you can come with me." She says reaching her hand to me. I look at Newt who smiles and nods at me.

"We're safe now Luv, what do you think is gonna happen? They saved us and then they kill us? They're not stupid, go." He says which makes the other's laugh a bit. I take the woman's hand and walk with her away from the boys. As we make our way through the halls I feel nervous.

I don't trust anyone that didn't come from the maze. We get inside a room and she tells me to sit on a bed which I do. "Good, first of all, I can see you don't trust us but we are here to help you. You're not the only maze you know, and we will make a future for you." The woman says. I simply nod. "So let me do some tests to see if you're healthy."

"Is it gonna hurt?" I ask as I see her pulling a needle out of a drawer. She shakes her head softly while staring at the point of the needle. She takes my arm and puts the needle inside of it. It hurts a little but not that much. She runs some more tests and then she asks me to follow her.

"Go lay on the bed there, we are gonna take one last test." The woman says. I do what she says. Another doctor in the room pricks another needle in my arm which makes my eyes heavy. "Don't worry about the sleep, you'll be alright." She tells me before I black out.

"As you can see here! They bullied you, tortured you and hurt you!" A woman shouts at me while showing me pictures of the glade in which the boys beat me. Some weird stuff gets injected which makes my head burst and I can't see what's real and not anymore. Everything hurts and my eyes start watering.

I know it isn't real! Is it? Did all this stuff happen? No! Newt would never... but why does it look so real?! These pictures are making me crazy, the blurry stuff they inject makes it heavy and I don't know anymore. It feels like I've been here for ages.

Newt POV

"Where is she? Hunter must've been back by now, it's been four bloody hours!" I say complaining. I'm worried though, I haven't seen her anymore.

"Newt chill, as you said, they won't safe us to kill us later!" Minho replies placing a nice hand on my shoulder.

"So how long have you guys been here?" Thomas asks to the guy in front of us. The cafeteria is full of people from different mazes.

"Two days, see that dude over there, he has been here the longest." The guy replies.

"See Newt, Hunter is alright!" Frypan says pointing at her next to the woman she went with.

"No! Look at her! Does that look okay? She has bruises on her arm which she didn't had before!" I reply scanning her.

"Overly protective mama noot activated!" Winston laughs jokingly but I hate it. "Hey Hunter!" He says when she passes our table. She glances over with pure fear in her eyes and sits down in front of the boy who has been here the longest.

"Does that seem normal to you?! I shouldn't have let her go!" I say standing up and walking towards her. Minho follows me and I sit down next to her. "Hey Luv, what happened?" I ask slowly placing my hand on her shoulder, but she twitches not making eye contact.

"Go away!" She says, her voice shaking. I take my hand back, it hurts. She is hurt and it hurts. I stand up, pure anger boiling inside of me and I walk up to the woman who took her in first place.

"What the bloody hell did you do to her!" I scream while Minho tries to stop me from beating the woman up.

"What do you mean, I showed her pictures of you guys torturing her, that's all." The woman replies before walking away. A big screen on the wall turns on and shows pictures of us beating Hunter up and sexually harassing her. Everyone goes silent in shock.

"She wouldn't believe these blurred pictures now would she?" Thomas asks scared as I am.

"Maybe if they played with her bloody head she would!" I reply scared, angry and confused at the same time. I see her talking to the dude in front of her and I miss her.

Hunter POV

"I'm sure these pictures aren't real Hunter, look at them, they are blurry and really bad edited." Aris says trying to comfort me. A tear pours from my face.

"I just don't know what's real anymore Aris! I don't want to get hurt!" I reply sobbing silently. He stands up and embraces me softly.

It comforts me a little, but it seems different then I was used to. "I'm gonna lose you before the blond dude kills me, we gotta get out of here." He whispers.

I turn and look at Newt who looks at me with pain in his eyes. He is mad, at me? Maybe... I don't know anymore. We get pulled to our rooms and I sleep alone which I'm really thankful for at this point.
