Scars

The rest of the week went painfully slow while I was impatiently waiting for Sunday. And today was finally Sunday which means my parents are home and we will get to spend time together, Finally!!
I decided to take a quick shower before going out to have breakfast with everyone. I missed my parents so much and today I will try to spend as much time with them as possible .

After I was done with everything in the bathroom I went into my closets and decided to just wear blue jeans and a white T-shirt before grabbing my phone and walking out towards the kitchen where I know I'll find my mom since she loves cooking even though she doesn't do it much.

Just when I was close to the kitchen I could smell the delicious smell of food , that's when u know my mom is at home because she is the only one who can cook food with such a delicious smell. As for me let just say I wasn't blessed in that department , the day I tried to make eggs for breakfast I almost burnt the whole house down, after that I was banned from cooking.

I enter the kitchen and saw that my mom was almost done with cooking. "Hey mom"  I said to my mom while looking at her beautiful face , and she smiled at me.
"Hey baby , how are you doing?" She asked fixing where she just messed up while cooking.
"I am fine mom. How about you , are you okay ? Do you need help?" I replied and smile while looking at her.
"Am fine baby. And no I don't need help , I just need you to stand there and look just as beautiful as you are doing " she said after giving me a brief hug and a kiss on my forehead.

"Looks like no one misses me , I should just go back to sleep " Reese says while pouting , and I stick my tongue out at her and she rolled her eyes at me.
"Stop being dramatic , it's not our fault that you decided to wake up late" I said while rolling my eyes right back at her.

"Avery no rolling eyes" my mom said. " mom she rolled her eyes, first that's not fair " I said while frowning.
"That's doesn't mean you should also do it , you are the one who's old" she said while looking disappointed and I immediately felt bad. "Sorry mom" I said while looking at my hands . "it's okay baby" she tells me then turned towards Reese " and Reese you know that I miss you , in fact am the one who is feeling like you didn't miss me at all, check the time you woke up " she says with a beautiful smile on her face I couldn't help but smile even though she wasn't smiling at me .

"Are you serious mom?? You are the one who works from Monday to Saturday as if you don't have kids at all " Reese yells at mom .
"Reese watch your tone when you are talking to mom, she is not your friend " I said to Reese with a threatening voice .
" it's okay baby let her talk , let her vent her anger on me I understand why she is angry " my mom said with a sad smile.
Are you kidding me ?!! "Mom you can't say that it's okay just look at how she spoke to you " I said not believing what my mom just said .

"How am I talking to her? All am saying is the truth , she and dad loves their work more than us ,they don't even have time for us I bet if their company calls them right now they will go and leave us like they always do" Reese said while tears were streaming down her face. I just looked at my mom not knowing what to say because after all Reese is right.

My mom approached Reese and hugged her while Reese continued crying , I didn't feel hungry anymore so I decided to go to my room. The moments I reached my bedroom door my phone started ringing , I looked at it to see that Aby was calling I smiled before receiving the call and pressing it on my ear.
"Hey Aby"  I said and got inside my room and shut the door .
"Hey Avery , why do you sound like something is wrong ?
Are you okay ??"she asked sounding worried, For a minutes I forgot that Aby knows me too well for my own good . " am fine Aby , don't worry" I said praying that she will believe me and talk about something else.
