"Eats like he hasn't in years." Ale joked as he went back on his phone, "Yeah, it pisses me off when he starts crying for more." I said, brushing my hand through his long and soft hair, "He really is like Mattia," He told me, wrapping an arm around me and rubbing my shoulder.

"Yeah," I said, hearing my voice breaking. I leaned my head on Ale's shoulder as Mal continued eating, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up," Ale apologized. But I shook my head. "N-no, you-you didn't mean it viciously, i-its okay," I told him. "I just really need him to be okay," I cried, Ale, leaned down and kissed my head, rubbing my shoulder comfortingly.

"He will be, c'mon we're all rooting for him," Ale told me, and he was right. Roshaun and Alvaro dropped everything when they found out Mattia was shot. I don't know what I would have done if they hadn't shown up and helped me. "I-I know," I said breathlessly. "CODE BLUE, CODE BLUE, CODE BLUE." we all heard.

I sat up before Malachi started crying. Nurses and Doctors ran down the hallway. Please don't turn right, please don't turn right. I begged inside my head. But of course, they all did. I quickly stood up and pulled my shirt down, throwing the blanket off of me and handing Malachi to Ale.

It hurt but I quickly went down the hall to Mattia's room, who was laying down on his bed, the doctors that were with him had blood on their hands, I looked at his gown to see blood was showing through the white fabric.

"W-whats going on?" I asked one of the doctors who was close friends with Dr. Adams, "He's bleeding out from his wound, we have to get him back up surgery. He'll be fine Kairi. I promise you." Dr. O'Donnell said as a couple of staff members helped to push his bed and him out of the room.

"Oh my god," I said quietly, putting a hand over my mouth to quiet my cries. "It's okay, c'mon Kai let's sit down," I heard Robert say to me, putting his hands on my shoulders. "I-I," I tried to say but I couldn't, it felt like a huge rock was stuck in my throat.

"I-I ca-can't breathe," I said putting a hand on my chest, feeling like the walls were closing in on me. "C'mon, c'mon let's get some air," Ale said, "Vera, hold Malachi," Ale said, "Yeah...c'mere baby, come here," He said, taking Malachi in his arms before Ale took my hand and pulled me down the hallway to the exit.

He pulled me outside and rubbed my back as my breathing quickened. "Kairi, calm down, calm down," Alejandro told me, "I-I can't. He-he's gonna die, something's gonna happen to him, I can't. Alejandro, I can't do this alone," I said, my throat starting to hurt as I gasped for air. "Kairi, Kairi c'mon breathe," He said, holding onto my arms.

"Kai, I think you're having a panic attack, just calm down okay, breathe with me. One, breathe in, two, breathe out, three, breathe in," Ale told me, rubbing my back.

"You're doing great Kairi, calm down. Please calm down." He begged me, "Your not alone Kai, we're here. Mattia will be fine." He told me, "I-I can't lose him, i-if he dies, I can't go on. I can't do this whole thing on my own." I shook my head, grabbing onto his sleeve.

"C'mere Kai, come here," He said, pulling me towards him, I grabbed onto his shirt squeezing it in my fists. "He'll be fine. He's gonna make it through the surgery. Please, Kai, breathe, please just-just calm down," Ale told me. I felt the burning sensation in my throat start to go away, I stopped shaking as much as I was before. But that does not mean I'm okay.

"Kairi? Are you okay?" Robert asked quietly as we walked back to the waiting room. I sighed as Ale looked over at me, "Y-yeah," I nodded, before looking around at the boys, "Where's Mal?" I asked before Alvaro walked in, "I got him," He said, holding Mal. "Thanks," I said before sitting down in the chair behind me, rubbing my sweaty palms on my sweatpants.
