THIRD PERSON's POV:

"It's been a while since we've been on a date." Hanji stated as Levi pulled her seat out for her, thanking him in the process. Only a nod coming from him as he sat in front of her, his eyes immediately skimming the menu.

Her brown eyes peered over the top of her glasses, looking at him carefully before picking the menu up. Occasionally stealing a few glances at her partner before he spoke up, "Are you going to keep looking at me or are you going to order?"

A smile broke as she shook her head, "I'm not sure what I want, how about we share?" Her hand snuck out to reach for his, but he quickly retracted it. Her smile slowly began to falter as she moved her hand under the table, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." He muttered, tossing the menu down, "Are you ready to order? I am."

A look of confusion covered her face as she gave a small smile, "Yea, I'm ready." Her mood beginning to drop as the night commenced, and she couldn't help but to wonder, what happened to Levi that gave him a sour mood?

•••

The night escalated as only Hanji managed to keep their conversations going, only evoking one word responses from Levi. Her patience grew thin once the waitress gave a sympathetic look her way, sinking into her seat as she chewed on her straw. Hanji dared to steal some glances towards the strange man sitting in front of her, he was so different compared to the day they met in the park.

That was nearly two months ago as her brown eyes explored downward, taking note of his shriveled appearance. His tame hair wildly thrown to the side and a smear of faint red painting his neck, Hanji knew better. Deep down, she knew Levi cared for her, he'd show her that. But the thought settled in like a bug and made its nest in her mind as she stared at the ground. Determined to keep the anxious nerves from rising up.

The waitress soon came by with the check as Levi lazily brought out his wallet, laying the card in the small black book. His attention returning back to his phone as his fingers flew across the screen, typing aggressively. Hanji straightened up as an idea came to her, her foot slowly trailing up Levi's leg as he stiffened. Shooting a look her way as she sustained eye contact, Levi was a submissive, no matter how much he denied it.

Hanji knew that he was always finding ways for her to top. To watch her move effortlessly over him and take control of their situation, and she loved seeing him squirm underneath her. The slightest move and he was like putty in her hands, "Car?" The brunette mouthed, taking an ice cube and placing it between her lips. Before swallowing it whole as Levi cleared his throat, moving his seat backwards from her long legs.

Once the server had returned, Levi didn't hesitate to grab Hanji and rush her out of the restaurant. Her chuckles filling the parking lot as his hands fiddled with his keys, unlocking the car as they jogged lightly. Both of their moods immediately lifting as they hopped in the car, their lips connecting as she attempted to push his jacket off.

His hand cupping her chin as he brought her face closer to his, kissing her eagerly. A sense of relief washed over Hanji as Levi returned her advances, perhaps she was just reading too much into things. But she wouldn't think about that as her lips moved with his, biting his lower lip as a groan fell from him. Excitement washing over her as she moved on top of him, her hips grinding onto his as she felt him under his jeans.

"How about we recreate our first date?" Hanji suggested, a smile on her face as she brought her head down to Levi's neck. Leaving little kisses here and there as his ears began burning, clearing his throat as he averted his gaze from his partner.

"Not...not now." He said, turning his head to the side as Hanji slowed, taken aback by Levi's actions. Her eyebrows furrowed and tilted her head quizzically, peering intently into his gray eyes.

"Dude, what the fuck is wrong with you, Shorty?" The brunette asked, not bothering to hide the hurt and embarrassment in her voice, "Do you not want to have sex? It's okay if you don't, but you've been acting off all evening. And I've tried to be understanding, but you're actually starting to hurt my feelings."

The distance grew between them as Hanji removed herself from him, holding her body as she tried to handle the rejection the best she could. Her eyes began to water as her head whipped up to face him, "I hate to ask this, but...are you cheating on me? You've been acting distant all night and usually, you don't reject my advances. You're usually all over me too, Levi."

Levi's hardened expression visibly softened as he rested his hands in his lap, "I'm not cheating on you, Four-eyes. I've just been so tired lately from trying to meet this deadline, and I didn't have the time to take you out tonight, but you practically begged me."

"What?" Hanji wiped the tear from her eye, "You could've said no, you didn't need to say yes. I didn't beg you, all I asked was if you were willing to go on a date tonight."

"Please." He scoffed, waving his hand at her, "I just knew you were going to beg unless I agreed."

"You didn't know what I would've done!" She threw her hands up, "I could've spent more time with Erwin before he got deployed again, but no, I was just thinking of your inconsiderate short ass!" Hanji shouted, her hand waiting for the door as Levi moved to stop her. Asking where she was going, but she was too angry to think straight as she began walking off into the night.

Her thoughts poisoning her mind as she kept replaying the night, just wondering where she went wrong. The woman yelled in frustration and gripped her hair, shaking her head from side to side as cars honking filled the night air. Her posture hunched and feet stomping on the concrete, sure to regret the action tomorrow morning. She barely took a moment to admire the nights beauty, with the moon shining high in the sky, soon to be swallowed by the rain clouds.

Hanji couldn't help but to feel like that day in the park, her hair clinging to her face. Clothes soaked from the rain, and nose runny from the cold she would catch soon.

Alone.

Cold.

And that coincidence was a sucky thing to have faith in.
