(Any typos in meyers dialogue are intentional)
(You are a Hauptmann of the 14th Waffen SS division, don't worry they didn't commit any war crimes, they were Ukrainians, you are about 21)

For those of you unaware of the Azur lane story, basically there are ww2 ships that are girls, and these aliens called sirens attack earth, and you as a commander have to amass ships to stop them, I will be focusing on the human aspect of it.

3rd person POV

Y/n had never expected a truce with the Russians, hell, 2 days ago they were encircled in Brody, something that Y/n managed to pull his forces out of. This was quite a commanding achievement as they had been surrounded by a Russian shock army. For many commanders, it put Y/n on their radar

They were just getting ready to go at it again when suddenly an order was sent all down the line, both German and Russian, to immediately lay down arms and wait for further instructions.

And so that's what they did, for once on the Russian front; all was calm. Y/n could see German and Russian men mingling among the frozen grounds outside Minsk. Even some German men were flirting with the soviet women.

However Y/n didn't care, while he didn't consider himself a loner, the smiling faces of the Soviets who, just hours before, had been sniping his young men into the ground, sickend him

'I guess they see it that way as well' he thought to himself

Either way it made him sick

And so he sat...
He sat in his foxhole, his mask and helmet on, staring off into nothingness with a contemplative look

"Vhy so tense?" Y/n would recognize that sly German accent anywhere:Meyer Holst

Now Meyer and Y/n didn't go way back, they had only know each other for three years, Meyer was slightly older than Y/n and the soldiers, however he was vastly more intelligent and mature

That's not to say he was good, Meyer was the quartermaster and a swindler, he ran the entire black market across the Russian front, you wanted something: he had it, for a price that is, Meyer is often unfair with his prices, and often cheats young recruits out of their chocolate or food rations, their gas masks and other goods

However A swindling quartermaster was the least of the young Y/n's worries, so he paid Meyer no mind, Meyer however, took the opportunity to needle the tired Y/n any chance he got

Until that one day...

Two years ago a howitzer came down right beside Meyer, it scarred him badly, however being hit by a shell wasn't Meyers biggest shock that day, no, it was actually the bloody Y/n crawling across the snowy plain to drag him to safety.

From then on they would have an understanding: you look out for me, I'll look out for you. This relationship would mould into something... resembling friendship.

It's complicated

"Eyyy! Helmet boy!" Meyer calls standing on the parapet of Y/n's foxhole, once again shaking Y/n out of his trance

Y/n grunts, not having had the opportunity to sleep the past few days

"Take zat Shing off, you're killing me!" Meyer exclaims gesturing to Y/n's helmet
